A Question about Rat Poop

Sorry, I flunked rat poop in school.

 

Can't find specific reference to the make-up of rat feces.



We've been trying to get the Ballamer Dept. of Health to help us with a
single large rat seen going about his ratty businesss at sunset in our
neighborhood. No luck so far because when we see it he is in transit,
they need to know where his hole(s) is/are.

Mouse droppings in the house are a major health concern due
being a transmission vetor for hanta virus. I don't find any general, country-wide
connection with rat droppings though.

 

There is an old joke that goes like this:

"What is the white stuff in chicken crap?"

The answer is "Chicken crap"

If you have a problem trapping a rat then do like I did, get a T-Rex rat trap! It killed this one that took up home in one of my cars.

Animals that poop pellets have digestive systems that do multi-pass processing. The digested material is wrapped in a little sausage-like wrapper and run through a second time. This helps extract food value, but in the process makes the distinctive pellet shape. I suspect the white spot that you are describing is related to the wrapper on the pellet.
