There is one listed for my area (well, nearby) @ Shoppers World in Framingham.

How do we show "proof" of a reservation, the email that we may have received?
I have picked a dealer and am I'm on the list, don't know about finding that email though.

I say go late on sunday. No one else will be there!

 

So what's the program? How long are the drives?

 

if it's anything like the one i went to last year in shoppers world, they take you around the parking lot for about 3 minutes. it's so crowded, you can't exceed 15mph and the gen III never left electric mode. not sure the plug in will feel any different unless they change the route. and the people running it knew nothing about hybrids.

 

Doesn't sound too appealing to me. I've already seen and played with the "PHEV Mule" at Toyota of Braintree when they had it for a day. My Leaf test drive a month ago was at least 15 minutes around Suffolk Downs and got it up to 40mph or so. Toyota, you can do a better job than Nissan, might take some planning though

and yes, we are test driving other vehicles as well, the PHEV Prius is a little late to the game, but worth considering for 1 car only households.

 

Well, it does say "this week" on the link to the page from the list of events.

No, they mean a reservation for the Ride & Drive event. The text on the page says: "Select 'I'm Attending', print out the page, bring it to the event and get front-of-the-line access to drive the Prius Plug-in Hybrid."

 

What is, or how do I obtain proof. I have a login and pw from when you could register.
So, what's this "proof"?

 

Just drove the PHEV mule, drives just like my 2010, a little more info on the EV range on the display, nice car. Still wondering about the packages and pricing. The test drive is a loop around the Best Buy parking lot, they want to keep it short to give as many all EV rides as they can. They give you a $10 Best Buy gift card as well.

 

i'm waiting for that los angeles event since i missed the last one.

 

i hear that if you plug the dashboard electric socket into the exterior charging port that the car will run forever

 

what speed were you able to get upto? how much charge was in the batteries?

 

25mph on a short stretch before making a right
back to the parking lot. The battery was fully
charged indicating 13.2 EV miles. I was the first driver of the day on that particular PHEV. They had 7 with them, one was a static display they where not driving.

 

Even though this is on the other side of the US, any idea if any PHV Priuses will be available for test drive at Green Drive Expo - Bay Area?

 

How was the acceleration in EV mode?

 

I assume you're asking me. Hard to judge as you are driving around a parking lot, not a lot of room to really accelerate at all... I did get a call from my Toyota dealer today, looking for a deposit.. I said, whats the pricing and packages... They had no clue, told them I am waiting until that's released before putting down any money.

 

Awesome. I already have my tix. I'm planning on attending prior to the first home game for Cal at ATT park. Go Bears!!!
