I think you did too at one point. I had made sure I posted them in the open to new and previously interested people that I had finally decided to sell them before I did. Hope no hard feelings, not to mention I really didn't want to ship them. Was trying to sell local.

Did you happen to get mileage calcs, looking to get wheels and have the sunroof as well...curious if the mileage loss is significant with the wheel you selected. thanks-

 

The wheel is less likely to drop your mpg significantly. The tire will, however. Expect about a 3-4mpg drop if you choose a good tire. The Genii drops between 4mpg and 6mpg when upgrading to a larger, wider and heavier wheel/tire combo.

 

I sold him the wheels and figured I'd chime in. Since I had the factory 17's to begin with I kept the factory Yokohama's (A20 I think) and only lost maybe 1-2 MPG's. I'm not the fuel miser type to begin with but on average with te stock 17's I would average 48mpg's. Once I switched to the Enkei's it woul average 46-47mpg's. Mostly due to the extra drag of the multi spoke configuration I'm sure. The wheels are 4lbs. lighter than stock so it kind of offset it. Hope this helps. On a side note, I loved the factory Yoko's. I would have bought them again but didn't come in 19's which is what is on the car now.

 

You meant Toyo, not Yokohama. It's the Toyo Proxes A20.

I was looking at these, let me know what your change in MPG ends up being. I am torn between looks and paying higher gas and tires.

 

The change will be determined by your tire choice more so than the wheels. We've determined that wheels, unless grossly under or overweight have a very minimal effect on overall MPG.

I'm still waiting for someone with e GenIII to do a true MPG test between 15s and 17s or 18s. Most people just slap them on then give a random number for their loss. Some even claim an increase which is a joke.

 

I think I am also concerned with the extra tire cost considering I will be driving more than 25,000 miles a year. I had ASA AR1's on my BMW and loved the look.

 

The tire price does increase but it really depends on what tire you get. The Kumho ectsa ASX 215/45/17 is cheaper than the 185/65/15 Michelin Energy Saver or my dB Super E-Spec. In general though, equivalent quality tires will be more expensive as tire size goes up. My Michelin Primacy MXM4s were $139/ea.. So you lose money on the tires and the fuel drop BUT the look damn good! lol

 

these may be not the same for all but this is what I get on the wheels I have right now..... my commute is 100 (home-office-home) with freeway traffic and 2 hill climbs (3k-4k feet I think).... if I don't use the route with the hill climb the mpg is on the high side of the average..... I also don't drive slow... 70-75mph when there is no traffic....

OEM 15's - I was getting at least 50+mpg when I was using these set of wheels

17's TE37 17x7.5 with 215/45/17 Falken 912 tires - average is about 45-48mpg ...

18's Tom's TN-06 with 215/40/18 Continental DWS tires - car shows 46mpg on my first 400 miles on these wheels/tires combo...
