I'm also curious about this. Would love to have the clears more of a light charcoal color.

Minus the body kit it's not expensive. BTW he messed up on the 'Hybrid Synergy Drive' emblem. I can see some silver. I know because I've done it too.

valenti lights are $400+, "expensive" is a subjective word.

Yeah I just did 5% Formulaone Tint all around. I like those lights but replacing them may remove my Toyota Care warranty. I really want to do Jdm Side View mirrors

Re: Has anyone Tinted their Taillights, and 2012 Tail Light Mods?

The problem with tint/vinyl overlays is the end result looks nothing like the Valenti, Crystal Eye, K2 Tuning, etc. taillights. You don't get the brilliance of the crystal eyes or Valenti's jewel design and it'll remain dull looking like the stock taillights but in a different color. Another big reason for upgrading to these lights is you get full LEDs. Merely replacing the halogens in the stock units with a single LED won't even approach the output of 14 LEDs in turn signal or 10 LEDs in reverse light.

Nonsense. Replacing stock taillights won't void any warranty and federal law specifically prohibits this (google Moss-Magnuson Act). They just won't cover the aftermarket lights in case they break. Same with replacing the stock side view mirrors.

A number of JDM taillights are significantly more expensive than Valenti (Grazio and several other brands run $1000+). The cheapest full LED taillights you can get is only like $150 cheaper than Valenti. Now, that's subjective :D

A auto paint shop can paint them with a tinted clear coat. I had my done for about $150. I have a 2012 v so we have the really bright tail lights. They came out nice but I think I could have had them go a little darker to match the tint on my windows better. Sorry I dont have pics right now.

Go too dark on the rear reflector and you become a big target for cops. Aftermarket taillights have fully exposed rear reflectors no matter how dark they are tinted.

Those of you looking for light charcoal color, K2 Tuning makes nice light smoked taillights. They look especially good on the Plus Prius in Winter Gray.

I used Lamin-X film on my taillights. They sell a variety of tints precut for Prii.

You got that price because you were the first to email TWP. They're still on sale for $420 shipped until May 25th and are normally a bit more expensive.

    $420 is still a good deal, normally they're $500 + on ebay
