Not my cup of tea, but if you like it that's all that matters.

Nice design to the fake wood but a little too much for my taste.

The 06+ Prius dashboard seems to be a better match for wood trim than the 04/05 ones.

    malibujohn,

Just out of curiosity, are you will'g to share how much this nice woodgrain dash set you back? I had a local place quote me about $600 (installed) for FAR less woodgrain mat'l than you got. The promotional info insisted it was REAL wood, but the shop let me handle/inspect a piece from one of their kits & I'm certain it was just cheap PLASTIC (with small pieces of double stick tape attached to hold it on).

I like the looks of a woodgrained dash, but NOT the cheezy quality of what they showed me. If I remember, there were only 8 or 10 pieces in that kit, which they would sell to me for over $400 if I wanted to put it on myself. Instead, that money was better spent on getting my front end covered with ClearBra to protect my paint job from getting all chipped up.

I love the looks of your job & the MANY areas you got covered, but I have a 2005 model with the gray interior (with the smooth-painted burgundy dash) & when I took a few pieces from the kit out to see how it might look if I were to have the kit installed, it just didn't look quite right. So I agree with the previous poster that it doesn't look as good on the '04-'05 (unless maybe in the tan interior'd cars) as it does on the dashes of the 2006 to present models.

    Hi Ken;
    Thanks for your comments.
I bought my kit online through ebay for $131.00 (US). I checked out several suppliers but this one offered the most for the least.
I don,t know how to give you a link but if you type 350029302067 in ebay motors it should give you the info.
My installation took longer than normal because it was a cold day but I was anxious to do it so I used a hair drier to warm the pieces prior to installation.
I get a lot of comments on my "personolized" Prius.
Installation took a couple of hours but it was a fun time watching the transformation after each piece was assembled.

I've got the same kit as you and have been waiting for some warm weather. Well it's suppose to be in the 70's the next couple of days, I'm gone give it a try. I'll show pictures when done.

    All those wood pieces!

Reminds me a lot of the John Prine song, "Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore".

The Prius must have done something very serious to punish it this way:mad:

Finally finished installing the wood dash. Real happy with the way it turned out. I felt the interior of the car looked too low end out of the factory.

Yeah, tacky in my opinion, but it's nice to see something different. I like the functional interior of the Prius as is.

It looks like it fits like a glove.
Great job, thanks for the pictures.

Only 4 weeks into my purchase and I already have small scratches on the gold toned? plastic air vent panels.

By the way, WHAT color are the panels? Anyone know where the exact color touchup paint can be found. I've spent hours in various auto stores and can't find an exact match?

Keeping mine as stock, for simplicity, but I think the wood-grain does look sharp.

Responding to Diversified, the one puny thing I saw when I test-drove, and still think is rather puny -- is the miniature brake pedal. Somehow, that goes along with a general sense that my previous cars have had stronger brakes

My wife's Camry came with an interior like that. Its the only thing she complains about (about the car...). Specifically the glint reflection from the sun really bothers her. Does yours do that too?

I have never been a fan of the plastic fake wood look for an interior, sorry. And if you ever want to remove it, the shiny surfaces you covered will be ruined.

    malibujohn,

Earlier in this thread you provided an e-bay reference # or auction item #. The day I read that post I checked that number on e-bay & it said item no longer for sale & I couldn't get any info on it. I was just wonder'g if you still had any paperwork (or anyhting ) from that kit that would have a phone # or address of the manufacturer [or even of the e-bay seller (in case he still deals with that supplier)]. I haven't ever seen a kit as extensive & good look'g for as cheap a price from any of the wood grain companies I'm aware of. I wouldn't even consider less of a kit for the $600 or more that some want, but a kit as good as yours for only $131 I'm still cosider'g. So, do you still have any info from your kit (or the e-bay seller) for me? Also, in case the kit is available in different types of wood, what was your wood called?
