I"m wanting to get front and back seat covers for our on order Gen III, hopefully due in soon, and was wondering what y'all have found that work well.

I'm not interested in anything that is fuzzy, like what is already on the seats.

Also, has anyone tried spraying fabric protector on the inside fuzzy parts of the doors? I know my dog will create her own paw art on the doors around the windows.

    Thanks for any ideas,
    FL2MI

I too am looking for seat covers. I would hate to get a big stain or tear in my new car. I have the cloth interior.

I have found one website, ...precisionfit..., which advertises 2010 Prius covers between approx. $180 and $240, depending on the material. Costco is advertising seat covers from a company called ...coverking.... which are wetsuit material at $180, but they do not offer a 2010 Prius seat, only the 2009. Both precisionfit and coverking seat covers appear to be compatible with seat airbags and offer custom fit. The costco offer seems to be the best bang for the buck.

I wonder if the 2009 Prius seat covers will fit a 2010 Prius?

I'm so glad you mentioned that! I haven't had side air bags before and wouldn't have thought to check on that when shopping for covers. I have a IV on order, so it has leather, which I really don't want. Hence the seat cover interest...

I hope that either someone comes out with nice 2010 covers soon or the solar roof ventilation actually works really well... Otherwise I won't be able to comfortably wear shorts in my Prius (when I get it, which of course I hope is SOON!!).

Wet Okole can make seat covers that are compatible with the side airbags in the Gen III. They are a quality product and have been around for a long time. They should be producing them shortly. I have to take my Gen III down to have it measured. They will measure your seats and then you can decide what colors you want. Typically run about $250 for the front $250 for the back. IMO they are worth every penny.

I've purchased the Wet Okole's for four vehicles in the last few years and will not put any other seat cover in my cars. They are waterproof and durable. Though probably not needed with the Prius, they also have extra cushioning.

Happened to see this on uTube.
No idea how good (or not-good) these may be. But interesting and show how to install.

I have worn shorts comfortably in my IV with leather. I think it really helps that the leather is "perforated"...no problems at all.

One more endorsement for Wet Okole seat covers. Had them for our 2005 and 2006 Prius. Custom made. Fit like a glove. Ordering for the 2010. A must-have for us.

Being in Chicago vs. Texas probably has a little bit to do with that. Have you hit even 80 there yet? LOL In 105-degree heat with the car in the sun all day (no cover at work), perforations in the leather don't make any difference at all, except maybe to make a more interesting burn pattern on my skin.

Despite the multiple endorsements for Wet Okole, after looking at their website, that is not me. I'm trust the opinions of their quality, but their design leaves a lot to be desired. I want cloth, not wetsuit material (I don't have a problem with spillage), and I hate that they put only black on the sides. I'm getting the Bisque interior and I definitely don't want any covers that are half black. Yuck. :(

What is up with Toyota? There is another thread right now with someone asking about dash mats. Any reason they aren't making these things available?

Looks like to me you can choose a solid color. Scroll down the Toyota Prius covers page, to the section called "Choose the type of seat cover you want for your vehicle. (REQUIRED)." Look at #2.

    It's still neoprene, though.

I don't worry to much about seats. I bought a Corolla for my granddaughter, which was owned by a smoker. There were burn marks everywhere. Because of the interior, they gave me a really good deal. The car only had 23,000 miles but the interior was a mess. I bought a complete interior on eBay for $40 and my favorite upholstery shop charged me $180 to install it. You can just as easily have leather installed too.

You're right! I misread the top of their form, where it says:

"Check here. I understand that color choices below are for middle sections and that outside sections are always black, except on seat covers ordered with full piping or RealTree camo patterns (REQUIRED)"

I apparently skipped over "with full piping or" and just read the camo part. Where's the smiley for smacking your head and saying "doh"?

I think I'll order swatches and see what the neoprene material is like.

    Thanks for setting me straight!

Oh Well, I might as well inquire. We are getting our #3 with Blizzard White and Dark Gray Fabric with a S/R on Thursday. We have always had leather. If you don't care for your dark gray leather, perhaps we could work up some sort of swap. We are in central Maine. Just a thought.

Anybody have any experience with the seat heater on the Wet Okole covers? Does it plug in/where? Does it change the comfort of the covers?

Wanted heated seats, but didn't want leather.

I bet gtcovers.com will come out with 2010's soon. Call them up, find out.

2009 Prius Seat Covers from GT Covers

My Toyota dealer advertises this brand. I think they are supposed to look the most like OEM. Not positive though.

Yesterday, I emailed Coverking (they are the company who Costco's seat cover offer is through) regarding 2010 seat covers. This was their reply:

    "

We are desperately trying to get our hands on a 2010. Our factory is in Anaheim, CA. If you or any board member has one anywhere in the OC area and are willing to allow us a few hours to pattern off it (nothing will be remvoed or damaged in the vehicle), we'll offer a discount.

    Thanks,
    Steve Gupta
    Coverking"

I am up in the Bay Area, so I can't take him up on his offer, but I added this entry just in case a Priuschat member is in the OC.

    Good luck!

Why did you order a IV then?

I assume the goal here is to have a 10 year old car with new looking seats? Pretty environmentally wasteful too. This sounds like grandma's house with plastic furniture covers, dishes only to be used for special occasions that never happen and special towels that can only be used by special guests that never arrive.
