I may get better MPG's, but your car looks WAY better. It is harder to get the MPG's with the 17" rims, too.

Charlie (in regards to the 70.0 MPG displayed tank)

I don't have an aftermarket PHEV (or any variety of such), but could you imagine the damage I could do if I DID have one? Wow!

Realize, that despite this tank reading 70.0 mpg, the hand calculated value was 66.4 mpg (my display is about 6% optimistic). As far as getting that kind of mileage, it is a combination of driving habits, commute, weather, and luck.

BTW, my current tank (570 miles) is showing 69.9 mpg. I was at 70.2 mpg before the weekend (weekend driving kills my MPG because of shorter trips) and 69.6 after the weekend.

Driving habits include - keeping top speed below 60 mph, tires inflated to max PSI, and not tailgating so I can anticipate stops.

Commute - I have an approximate 35 mile, one way commute this minimizes the initial warmup hit. Also, I will hit a stretch of slow and go for about 5 miles during my normal commute. This gives me an opportunity to pulse and glide and improve the overall tank.

Weather - This was done when the weather was very warm and dry. I managed to keep the car cool during the day (parking in shade) and then just running the vent to keep my cool while driving, rather than the A/C.

Luck. There were a couple of accidents that occurred during my commute, that when I got there, the accident had cleared. However, it impacted traffic by slowing it down for stretches of a few miles. These reduced speeds allowed for more pulse and gliding as well as reduced speed driving which allows for great MPG's.

With the v being bigger and heavier Tanabe is testing their current springs to see if they would be OK with the v. I havent found any other manufacturer either who has them tested for the v yet. So for now I am just waiting for Tanabe to come out with something. I am hoping the year 10-11 ones will work so I dont have to wait longer for them to make new ones for the v. Thanks for the response.

Nice before and after pics with the Tanabe springs. I have a 2012 v with 17in Kazeras. I want the Tanabe NF210s like yours but they dont have them yet for the v. Hows the ride? Notice much difference in stiffness over OEM springs? After all said and done, are you happy with how much it was dropped or would you have wanted to go with the DF210s? Thanks.
