The car before Dvaita ("dualism," the 2001 Prius totalled in August - the name is also an allusion/pun on dvaita vedanta, the dualistic form of Hinduism) was an older Mercedes C-280 ("the Mercedes that looks like a Honda" my friend called it). I named it after the Buddhist term Dukkha, Sanskrit for "the impossibility of finding lasting satisfaction in the outer objects of life." The car before that was a small Honda CRX named Hinayana. Hinayana (less pejoritively Theravada) & Mahayana are names for the two main branches of Buddhism. They literally mean "lesser vehicle" and "greater vehicle." The CRX, being small, was of course the lesser vehicle (and a pun on Buddhism).

I wanted to call my 2001 Prius Samsara, Sanskrit for the endless cycle of death & rebirth (i.e., reincarnation, as in Buddhism or Hinduism), since the car constantly dies & restarts. But that vanity plate was already taken in California. :-) - Jim W in San Francisco

Would a clogged converter smell more like rotten eggs than burning electrical wiring and burning oil? I am not sure because I am not sure I have ever smelled a clogged converter.
