Hello Everyone my name is Jerry . Im from Brooklyn NY and now residing in the North New Jersey and work all over the Tri State area and farther wherever my Prius takes me . Im 27 year old male , worked for Toyota Service Department for about 4-5 years before i decided to leave Toyota and continue to do my side work as a Hybrid Battery Technician . NO i did not learn how to re-build a Hybrid Battery working in Toyota . My interest in Hybrid Batteries came from me seeing so many people leave the dealership so mad , frustrated , angry , or some just trading in there Prius so the low bucks the dealer offers as a trade in and forgetting about the whole Hybrid Car thing. Of course id be angry also if my Prius is only worth $3-5 k and my Hybrid Battery goes bad and i have to pay $2-4 k for a NEW hybrid battery . Long story short i became a victim of the RED TRIANGLE , decided to go to a junk yard and buy a Hybrid Battery with "65k" supposedly . May or may not be true .... install the battery drive car 34 miles Triangle back on . P3000 P0a80 (replace hybrid battery codes) Purchased as is..so i was out $500 ...didnt give up i opened up my old battery and the one i had just purchased from junk yard and thats where it all started...hundreds of dollars later and bunch of equipment ordered i rebuilt my own hybrid battery 2 weeks later it has been pushing my 2004 Prius for 19 months now still getting 43-51mpgs . Im new to the forum world but i have learned many small things i did not know on this forum . Id like to share my ideas and fixes also provide help if i can . I do rebuild hybrid batteries locally and nationwide . I ALSO BUY HYBRID CORES.
Look to having a great experience here at Prius Chat
