Looks like a PriusChat member is about to become famous! Ken@Japan, PriusChat's wonderful Japanese resource, will be a part of a program called NIKKEI Japan Report tomorrow, with the subject being "The Present and the Future" of the Japanese green economy. Don't worry, it's an English-language show!
You'll be able to watch the show online on http://jibtv.com/ on the following schedule:
jibtv (UTC): 2009/6/26(Fri) 00:30 / 4:30 / 8:30 / 12:30 / 16:30 / 20:30
All times are UTC, so be sure to add or subtract hours depending on where you are in the world. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that means the show will begin at 7:30 Eastern tonight.
Here's the message Ken@Japan sent me with the details:
I would like to tell you that my and some Japanese driver's Prius activity will be reported on the following TV program worldwide (broadcasted in English).
The program lasts only 30 minutes and our part will be very short, maybe a few minutes, but we don't know how long it'll be yet.
Anyway, our activity will be...
- interviews to us - how do we like Prius and etc
- some Prius driving techniques by myself

- E-1 (fuel economy) competition by 11 drivers
The main theme of the program is "eco-friendly car".

"
Even as the global economy experiences a prolonged downturn, Japan is seeing brisk sales of fuel-efficient “eco-friendly car” that have low carbon dioxide emissions. Toyota Motor Corporation’s revamped hybrid “Prius” became the top monthly seller in the domestic market immediately after being launched this May. In July, Mitsubishi Motor Corporation plans to introduce its electric vehicle “i-MiEV”. Meanwhile, Honda Motor Corporation, whose hybrid car “Insight”has been a hit with consumers, is working to develop fuel-cell vehicles that don't require gasoline. We report on the latest trends and behind-the-scene technological developments that are making Japanese eco-friendly cars the industry frontrunners.
