Have a look at the point where it states that the brakes must have 50% left

Write to them again stating a number of the facts that are shown on their website. I'd fight this one if I were you as it's worth it if you are sucessful

That's my feeling. The vehicle certainly doesn't seem to be meeting the standards supposedly set by Toyota for a "Certified Used" Toyota.

You go to Toyota, you pay more for a "Certified" used vehicle. I think the expectation that you won't need new brake pads, new rotors, an intake manifold, tires and an alignment all done within 5000 miles and less than 6 months, is reasonable.

I would contact the dealer again and tell them you want to be refunded the cost of the brake job, or you will be in contact with the District Attorney's office for fraud.

Exactly - I copied and pasted into my letter what they claim a Toyota Certified Vehicle is. I'm writing another letter and then I'm going to the BBB and possibly the newspaper. People should know these things. I purchased 4 tires today, after 10,000 miles. NOW I have a so-called Toyota Certified Vehicle, at least I HOPE so.:)

Yes, but brake pads and rotors are considered "wear and tear items". Yea, right - like my cousin says, "you used 50% of the brake pads in 5,000 miles, so brake pads must be good for 10,000 miles? No way, unheard of." Grrrrr.
