Who has highest mileage on odometer?

I just rotate them every 5k miles like the manual says (I skipped it once, maybe twice). I run factory pressure because I didn't notice anything different as far as mileage when I first got the car and experimented.

My driving style is mostly gentle to medium acceleration, highway driving mostly, concrete mostly, and I almost never drive over 55 mph on any road. I'd be happy to take pictures or even a video that shows my car's odometer and the tires, even though there's no way to show these are the original tires I suppose.

Of course if you think about it, I have no reason to lie about it anyway. I think I have just been gentle on my tires compared to most people. I also never had a panic stop.

 

I didn't mean to say you were lying. I meant that you were an outlier on the bar graph that is going to be tire life on the PC. Probably the most telling is the not going over 55. Friction heat kills tire life quicker than most other things.

 

Gotcha. Ya, I figured my speed is probably the reason.

I will also add a side note that I am going to replace my Prius C. Sadly it simply is too uncomfortable for 10 hours of driving every weekday. I was really looking forward to seeing how many miles I can pile on it.

 

What are you gonna get instead?

 

Probably a Lexus CT 200h. I want something comfortable with a lot of convenience features, especially adaptive cruise, but still get good mileage. My only options are the Lexus, the Accord Hybrid, and the Prius Five, without going diesel. The Accord requires the top of the line trim for adaptive cruise. Same with the Prius, which is not as quiet and comfortable as the Lexus.

I lose a bit of MPG sadly, but I feel it's worth it. I get really stressed out from all the noise and harshness of the C on the bad roads out here.

 

You might want to do an extended test drive... I don't think the CT has seats that are very different. I don't think the diesel would be a good option for what you do, either. Don't you run a crap ton of short routes?

 

Actually I make 8 stops total, at 350+ miles round trip. Shortest trip is about 12 miles, longest is 85 miles. I do each trip twice.

I was able to get the CT for a quick test drive (and a smaller drive in an F Sport to try the sportier suspension tuning. ) Afterwards, I told the salesman that I would need more time in the car. They let me take it on Saturday night when they closed, returning it Monday morning. I put over 100 miles on it.

The seats have been mentioned many times in many reviews. Most folks say they are extremely comfortable. I would say they are far better than the C's seats.

I wish I could get a C-Max, but adaptive cruise control is not available.

 

That's good to know about the seats. I had heard bad things from people that actually drive them. But I haven't sat in them to compare.

I have about 20k now on my PiP.

 

Some good threads on the topic. Based on analysis changing every 30k is optimal.

And technically I only have about 12k miles on the ICE...the rest has been EV only.

 

Unfortunately I am selling the car in a few months so I'm not sure if I'll see 150k, much less 200k.

As far as the transmission fluid, have not done that yet. I may not do it at all, for said reason.

Other than that, no issues with the car. It runs like brand new.

 

Weather you you used ICE or EV doesn't matter the HSD transaxle is used all the time.

 

What will you be replacing it with?

It would have been nice to see you put on 100k miles every year and heard back on how it was doing.

 

I know! I was really looking forward to doing just that. The car is simply not comfortable enough to keep long term. Instead, I am going with a Lexus CT 200h.

The Prius C will be going to my mom. We may just keep it long-term in the family. Who knows!
