Probably not, but the first year they give you a 5% premium reduction right off the bat and you can cancel and send it back for free as they include a free return shipping label. I already had State Farm insurance so for me it was a no loose situation to go ahead and try it. The bad news is there is an annual fee after the first year of $72. So the savings for me exceed the fee but not by a whole lot. $27 a month savings and $18 a month cost since I am past the first year. Plus if your yearly mileage goes up you could loose too.

I got the postcard last week, but was unable to get a functional savings calculator without enrolling. Is anyone else able to get it?

According to the info they sent me, the only penalty is loss of the low mileage discount if the device finds that you are exceeding the 7500 miles/year limit of that discount.

They also claim it also doesn't flag speeds under 80 mph, and the service provides SF with location only to about 10km resolution. The more precise location on the GPS goes only to emergency services and the theft recovery service (not SF), and only if you subscribe to those additional services.

I'll wait a while, to hear more about what the snoops can do with it and what real customers manage to save, before deciding whether or not it is worthwhile.
