    Hi All,

I'm in Los Angeles and getting ready to lease a Prius Two before Monday, the 28th. This is the best deal I've been able to get. Here in Los Angeles we have close to 10% tax.

    24 months – 12k miles $185 drive off $278.25 with tax
    36 months – 12k miles $615 drive off $259 a month with tax OR 0 drive off $278 a month with tax.

Has anyone gotten something better than this recently?

I've leased BMW's my whole life and they include GAP insurance, I'm told Toyota does not include it in the lease and it would be an extra $28 a month. Is that what others pay for their GAP insurance?

Ended up getting a great deal on the Lexus CT200 instead. Was offered 0 down, 0 drive off, $336.69 per month with tax included for 27 months and 10k miles per year. Lexus actually seems to include GAP insurance so its only $30 more per month for having a luxury Lexus instead of the Prius. I think it's worth it.

Mostly because it was the cheapest hybrid lease I could do. I have a "fun" car for weekends but needed a mpg efficient car for everyday driving due to a new job(will have to commute 55 miles one way and then back a few days a week). The Prius 24 month lease was $280 and then I'd have to pay $20 more for GAP insurance for a total of $300 a month. I test drove the CT200 as well and the luxury of the car just seems worth paying $35 more per month and getting 7mpg less.

With a limited 10k miles per year, that 55 miles one way is going to add up fast. The Prius at least gives you another 2k miles.

If you drove 55 x 2 for 3 days a week, that's a minimum 300 miles x 4 per month. 1200 miles x 12 months will be way over your 10k limit. That type of driving is going to put you in the penalty on your lease.

Yup, 18 months and I just turned over 40,000 miles. With a 53 mile one way commute at 4.5 days a week, (9/80 schedule, every other Friday is off) I don't think a lease is right for you unless you can negotiate 20,000 miles a year.

I'll only be doing that 55 mile commute a maximum of two times per week. May even be once a week. I'm not that worried about the mileage since I'll have another car for weekends and might even use it a few days a week if it gets to that point.
