I am just out of the dealer service period (2 years, 25000m). I took my Prius -v (3) 2012 to my mechanic. He did the oil and filter change, but could not reset the Maint Reqd light. It seems it is different from the regular Prius. I looked on the forum, and tried the suggestions, but none worked.

it was supposed to be (with odometer showing)
Turn the “POWER” switch to ON mode. The multi-information displays initial screen will be displayed for a few seconds. While the initial screen is being displayed, press the “TRIP” steering switch (→P. 186) 3 times, pressing and holding the switch on the third time.
I tried doing this both with my foot on the break and off, but all I got was a reset trip.
    Does anyone know???

Just did that Sunday on my 12 v. Get to Ready and toggle the trip reading to Trip A. Turn the car off. Press and hold the mph/kmh button while toggling the power to ON (push it once with your foot NOT on the brake pedal). Continue holding the mph/kmh button and wait for the Maint Reqd light to stop blinking and you should be good. The owners manual said the mileage reading would also flash all zeros, but mine didn't.

    Thank you jejb! It worked
Held the mph/kph button and pushed power (twice to come on) and the maint light blinked and went out.

I thought it was strange they made that button so big, as opposed to hiding it. Most people would set it and never use it.
In fact one evening I hit it by accident while shutting off the flashers. I couldn't figure out why I was driving so fast, until I noticed it said kph not mph.

    Thanks again,

    Same here.

Also the clock setting buttons seem overly big for something you use twice a year.

I believe the procedure for the HB is different than that for the v. Maybe try asking in the HB forums below?
