Apologies if this has been treated -- I didn't find anything thru "Search"

I have non-TPMS 15" steel wheels with snow tires mounted. If I buy a 2013 or 2014 Prius with 15"
wheels, can I continue to use the old snows?

    Thanks, jim

Yes, you will just have to ignore the TPMS warning light on the dashboard. ;)

A little black electric tape , over the TPMS yellow warning, and no little warning , unless your state has vehicle inspections , then ??

Does the lack on tpms on snow tires affect any other systems in the vehicle?

No, it is simply there to let you know when a tire is low on air pressure
I have gone through two winters here in tropical Buffalo NY with no TPMS snows.

Thanks. Does the tpms reset automatically when you reinstall the factory rims? My Fit did. I trying to decide between dedicated snow tires or a better all season LRR tire. We don't get the same volume of snow on the prairie as you do in Tropical Buffalo :)

Yes your all set when you refit your summer wheels .
I have been very happy with my Michelin Ice dedicated snows, the mpg hit is ~ 2 mpg (I run them 42psi front, 40 rear)
If I am not mistaken my car actually picks up the tpms signal from the tires stored in the rafters overhead in my garage and doesn't give me a tpms error for 20 minutes or so during the winter.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll go the snow tire route.
