I don't know what the heck people are talking about. I get an ad for Make A Wish (because I recently inquired about donating a car) at the beginning and end of every page, but it's easily overlooked. I find the site easy enough to use, certainly no worse than some others I frequent. I'm using IE 11 with Windows 8.1 and no ad blocker, though I do use Goggle's popup blocker. Keep up the good work, tons of useful info here and "most" people are friendly enough.

Danny, it's always good to hear from you and posts like this help give the forum a personal, instead of a corporate, feel.

I am new to the forum. It is probably the 10th forum or so I am joined and participated in. Funny when I was reading his post I thought it was a friend of Danny poking fun. This site is one of the best I have been a part of lately. Currently I am involved in an RV, Dog Training, RC Car, Ford Focus, Jeep forum and now here. Of all of those this one is the best IMO.

Danny whoever you are, keep up the good work.

It's mazing how the forum complaints on the net are generally the same.

I get on here via a 2008 Macbook and a fairly new iMac. No complaints, no problems, nothing.

You know...I actually belong to about 17 different forums. Out of all of those, I frequently visit 2 of them. One is in my opinion the best but priuschat is the 2nd. While it is a little cold feeling and glitchy...knowing that one man is at the helm makes me feel very impressed. While my first favorite forum does operate and flow a little smoother, what makes it so great is the atmosphere. It is full of a$$holes, people who contribute immensely to technical advances, and many people that pay it forward. There really isn't near as many contributions on this site but it has a lot to do with the demographic that typically owns a prius. As far as the LR forums...I am pretty sure that you are really comfortable using it and most likely it is loaded with a heap of valuable info being that that is a vehicle that many more dynamic people own.

    Danny,

It's old news by now, but there was a thread that got up to 33 pages so there obviously was some interest in the subject. It disappeared less than a month ago.
Only I can't remember the title now. It was something like "Trade in new Prius for a PiP."
It evolved into a long technical discussion about PiP vs. Volt.
It had some great graphics and links!

I guess feelings were hurt. Probably complaints were made.
And now it is gone without a trace. It's not in my history, cannot be searched, just gone.
Some moderator pulled the plug with no explanation. That's the weird part, just explain why, so it does not happen again.

The finishing post by me was saying I read that some PiP owners bought it just for the HOV sticker and never plugged in.
    Imagine that!!

Then I just recently read an article about that Google exec that OD'd when his hooker girlfriend gave him too much heroin.
He owned a Volt just for the HOV sticker, and never plugged in.
    Imagine that!!

Love the site, except for the unexplained disappearance of an obviously popular thread.
    Regards, Bill

I have to say, as a heavy forum participant, that PriusChat is among the better software packages out there. I liked some of the features of the old version a bit better - I got alert bubbles in the tab in Chrome (now I only get it on the page itself) and I think the old software saved my post drafts more frequently - ie. I could come back to a topic days later and an old draft would still be there (does the new software do this at all?)

Otherwise I think the look is extremely clean (helped immensely in all honesty by adblock - I had never realized it was even having an effect, but it looks much better this way than when I pulled it up in IE. As Danny says, this software is a bit different than most of the big sites - but it's a lot more powerful than most of them that feel totally outdated in comparison.

Sure there have been some issues with the migration, but they've been relatively minor. Heck, the VWVortex forum has been fighting huge issues for over a year now - massively annoying popups that you can't dismiss on mobile devices, database timeouts, posts that just disappear - and that is one of the largest forums on the Internet (or at least it was until they had an even worse debacle several years ago when they upgraded software and lost about half the userbase during the transition).

Two quick points: I'd use bullet formatting but that's been done, and ammo prices are on the rise again---besides, I'm trying to be more......P.C.. :D

    Point # first:
The best things in life are free, and while I wouldn't compare this site with a bounding hug and cookie smeared kiss from my granddaughter, it's pretty good for all that. I think Danny should stay the course.....with my heartfelt thanks!

Point # next.....or point # last (depending on how you number them): Hunt and peck forums are difficult mediums with which to communicate. It's a lot easier to try to use heat rather than light to illuminate your point, and Danny still hasn't perfected the sarcasm font.
I was tempted to counter-battery the OP because I thought that their post was excessively abusive, but they may have been frustrated - or simply like the rest of us ofter are: misunderstood.
    I've been there.
Who hasn't wanted to hurl a work computer out into the parking lot after a sweat-inducing blunt-force trauma fest? :)

(an extra half-point to go on) This Mysterious Missing 33-page High Voltage thread? I do not know. Never saw it. Did you check the Pancake Haus?

I agree with the op regarding what a pain it is to use Priuschat with Android & the new software. Trying to get rid of the ad doesn't work because when I press the x, nothing happens or I will be sent to the link that is below the ad.

So, in order to read a post, I scroll down the forum, make sure there is no link below the x, scroll back up & then attempt to press the x. Sometimes the ad goes away, but most of the time the ad stays as if I never pressed the x (see pictures below). Only a few lines of text are shown since the ad is blocking most of the thread.

Needless to say, I don't check Priuschat that often anymore due to the new software change; whereas, I used to check it everyday on my Android tablet. Ads can send people away.

I don't like Tapatalk & yes, I use ad blockers with no success here.

In the USA, free speech is between you and the government. You have no free speech rights on Danny's private property. Just Public Property.

I would have guessed it was personal issues, but perhaps you are right.

I use PC on both an Android phone and a Android tablet, no issues. Well, he uses some low contrast color schemes, but perhaps that is just my old eyes.

If you really hate the site, you can just quit sending Danny money.

Good to know. I'll try disabling Adblock, see how it goes.

Tab alerts are back now. Thanks for reminding me.

Drafts are still working, and actually implemented in the core software now, so (IMO) now they are more reliable and work better.

Ha ha. Thanks! I just saw a tab alert and thought I must have been crazy not seeing them before, but it was this reply!

The refresh interval on alerts also seems less aggressive than it used to be - most of the time I have to refresh the page or click a link to get it to update - it used to do so automatically even if I hadn't opened the tab in a while.

To update, I disabled AdBlock, and without shutting down and restarting IE, PriusChat continued to behave. Thought it was all good. But:

Later on, with the browser closed/reopened (and AdBlock disabled), the site is locked, no links work, nada. Reenable AdBlock, restart IE, and it works again.

Like I said, I use it on a 2008 Macbook, and it works fine, like all of the forums I visit. I know nowadays Windows users that use IE11 have a far more difficult time, as do the various 1,000 versions of Android mobile.
