Came out from work today to find the driver side mirror hanging down. It is broken at the plastic swivel hinge where it swings in and out from the driver side door (should have swung it in!).

Currently I have it taped. It still works except that the whole mirror doesn't swing in and out. Dealer wants an arm and a leg to fix. Any tips on how to get in fixed a little more reasonably.

Thanks in advance for any tips,

    Patrick

it is not hard to replace the mirror with a few simple hand tools. I'd try to find a used mirror. aftermarket mirrors suck. a
ĐØų©ĦƏ bag in a truck pretty much deliberately hit me and broke the drivers mirror. the replacement mirror jiggles a little when I hit bumps.

I had the same situation with mine. We have 3" on each side of our garage, and I clipped it on the side. It snapped off. Super sad. No tape could hold it straight when highway driving. You have to replace the whole thing, but it's not too expensive, is easy to order online AND you can do easily the install yourself (if you want to).

I bought a replacement on amazon. Had it shipped Prime. Found videos of easy 15-60 minute install on Youtube. Ended up paying my mechanic on the corner $40 for the install b/c I didn't have the time. Overall: easy peasy. Oh and despite the mixed reviews, there's absolutely no vibration on mine.

Pro Tip: Save the colored portion of your broken mirror. It snaps onto the replacement so that has the correct color to match your car.
