Ok, thanks for the advice. That is why I am one to always ask questions. I'd never heard of the rebuilt kit. I just know sometimes Co's put in " add ons" that are not always needed. Just a little wisdom I have gained in my 40 plus years...lol!

For the most part I agree if it's not broken, don't fix it.

You ask very good questions. Forgot to tell you, Discount Tire will price match any price you can get for tires elsewhere.

Update, after all the research I had decided to go with the Energy Savers. It was between the Energy Savers and the Defenders. I decided on the Energy Savers since I maybe selling my Prius. So, after calling around I decided to buy them at Discount Tire. Well, it was not meant to be...lol. They are no longer making the Energy Savers. Or at least there is a hold on them. I called three places, no one can get them.

Now a week later Discount tire no longer has their sale on their Michelins . (((insert frustrated icon))) So I called Toyota, who still had their tire sale on. I was thinking of going with the defenders, but was told the new Premier was replacing the Energy Savers. The guy totally left it up to me. So I decided to go with the Premiers. Mainly because I didn't want my mpg to take a hit, especially if I sell my Prius. I've read mixed reviews on the Premier tires, so second guessing myself. Toyota did say I could exchange them if I was unhappy (within a couple of weeks).

If my MPG takes a hit (although I was told it wouldn't) how quick will it show?

Any feedback on the new Premier tires?

I buy nothing but Michelins. I don't know anything about this one but they are Michelins. I wouldn't worry about them. I'm sure you will like them. I'll bet you like the ride and comfort of them already.

I have a 2010 Prius II with 195/65-15 Yokohama AVID Ascend tires. Quiet comfortable ride. Look up the reviews on them at Tire Rack.com. About $70 dollars apiece at tire rack.

That was my thinking regarding purchasing the Michelins. The tires I had on there were pretty good for stock...no complaints. Can't tell a big difference yet, but I only drove them 5 mls home.

I think that you will be fine. In about 50 years of driving I've never regretted buying Michelins and every time I've had anything else, I've wished they were Michelins.

Same here. I agree with you. They are the best.
