Removing passenger seat, restoring warning lights to normal

    For practical reasons, I removed my passenger seat this morning. So roomy! Removing the passenger seat, the connections to the seat sensors for occupancy were disconnected at the bottom of the seat cushion. All went well except now the warning light above the glove compartment complains the passenger is not buckled in, also the airbag malfunction light is on.
    Any advice on how to fool my Prius to act normally? Can I restore this by, for example, connecting jumpers at the modular connections or some other simple, clever way?
    2010 gen III Prius.

    Be very careful! There is an airbag in the seat, and static can set it off. Injuries or death are -possible-.

    The airbag malfunction sensing will be difficult to defeat. Perhaps a resistor across those pins of the connectors. Some research will be required to ascertain the value of resistor and which pins are involved. DO NOT short out pins in an attempt to turn off the light! You could damage the airbag systems.

    The seatbelt sensor is looking for a simple short/open. IF you can figure out which pins to connect for this it's a simple fix.

    But again, be very careful as you can damage systems in the car with inappropriate connections. You can access the schematics on the Toyota manual site.

    how much have your mpg's gone up with the weight reduction? take the back seats out too!(y)

    Thanks, David. Since having my head knocked off while removing the seat never occurred to me, I am going to disqualify myself from further work. I was lucky enough to get the seat out and will be satisfied with that. When putting it back in, I'll keep low.
