The only car that Mitsubishi offers for sale in the US that is worth anything is the Evo which is under heavy direct competition from the Suby WRX. The rest are all forgettable boring cars that nobody has ever heard of. We have tons of dealerships around here, and there is only 1 Mitsu dealership in the entire city that is joined with a Suzuki (also dead now) and then a Chevy dealership. The majority of people know nothing about cars, and they have no way to even discover these cars without accidentally seeing one.

If Toyota slapped a plug on the RX450h it would sell.

Which is pretty much why Suzuki went under. The only recent model I knew of was the Kizashi, and that's because a poster at Cleanmpg loved his. Back in the'90s they had some models that stood out. There is a local Suzuki X-90 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that I see every once in awhile, and the Metro that some hypermilers love was just a rebadged Swift.

I think the new Mirage bought Mitsubishi some hope and time. It's a quirky little car that gets really great fuel economy. The Outlander PHV, if not delayed again, should give them a nother boost.

OK, So - what in the world does that even mean ??

".... so expect materials feels and looks less value-oriented ..... "

will the interior & upholstery feel even more chintzy? - or will it be nicer. I'm hoping it will be nicer. That might make it worth the wait.

same thing with putting a plug in the Prius V...... even selling the PiP in all the other states would sell. But if you're hell bent on pushing hydrogen ... why would you want to try to give customers something better (more proven & more cost effective) to compare it against. That's my best guess anyway.

First thing I asked when rumours of a PiP and a 7 seater (V has 7 seats here) emerged is if it was the same car. Unfortunately it wasn't...
