Look I like to bitch and moan about bad dealer service as much as anybody on Priuschat, but shouldn't we also have a thread to give kudos to dealers who go "above and beyond" what you would normally expect?

To get the ole Prius ball rolling I will nominate Birchwood Toyota of Winnipeg , Manitoba, Canada for an "A & B" award because this is what happened to us:

We arrive on the doorstep of the service department at 7:30 am en route to Alaska. Did not have any appointment and were anxious to get on our way, but desperately wanted the 25,000 mile check before heading for the Alaska/Canada highway where we did not expect to see many Toyota dealers! So here's what happened next:
    1. Service manager directed us to a nearby Tim Horton's for breakfast and scheduled us for the first available maintenance slot that morning and said the work would be done by 9 am.
    2. Service manager explains that in Canada the owner has to PAY for those routine checks under the warranty period, and that there is no reciprocity agreement between Toyota Canada and Toyota USA. But then he adds, "You know, it really isn't fair to charge you people for this service as you would not pay in the US, so I will call Toyota headquarters and see what I can arrange."
    3. When we returned from Tim Horton's early at 8:30, the car was already serviced, the oil had been changed in addition to the normal servicing (which allowed us to drive to Alaska and back without worrying about an oil change ), the cost was absolutely zero, and last but not least the lady cashier ran after us and gave us the official Toyota water bottle and collapsible Toyota cooler pictured below as parting gifts! I still don't understand it, but we were treated like royalty by those Canadians and that dealership certainly deserves an "A & B" award!

Tim Horton's! Can't beat that when in Canada.

I have not run into one like that yet. I do my own inspections,as they want way to much for basically nothing. My 2006 still runs like a top. 68,0000 kilometers on it. It's still almost new. H

In an effort to not hijack this thread into something other than what it is intended to be, I'll just say...

Wow, that is certainly Above and Beyond customer service.
