My 2007 airbag sensor does not respond to a weight of 20 pounds or more, it continues to read "off". The dealer said the problem is in the female end of the seat belt; however, the seat belt sensor works perfectly. It sounds like the wrong diagnosis to me. Has anyone lease had this problem? if so, what was it was it repaired?

I took the car to a Toyota dealer because the airbag said "off" even with an adult in the seat. The service department said " the airbag sensor is in the female part of the seatbelt which requires a $500+ repair". Sounds like a fund raiser to me, but I cannot find out where the airbag sensor
( for passenger front ) is located.
    Does anyone know???

I'm sorry I don't have the answer you're looking for, but let me say "Welcome to PriusChat!" and I'm sure (in time) you'll get a more sensible answer from someone far smarter than I. You might add you location to your info. just to make it easier for folk to help you! - Wil

If your sensor light says "off", there is something wrong with it. It should not have "on or off" lit unless someoneis on the seat. I had this problem and it was because the seat belt receiver buckle was not working properly. The fix for me was to change the buckle, however I found another seat on craigslist for $75 and I changed out the entire seat. Problem fixed
