Welcome to the Top 20 MPG thread!

Much props to the man F8L for creating the original Top 20 of which this is just an updated extension. Here is the link of that thread: Top 20 - MPG Record Holders | PriusChat

All Prius models are welcome! We will have a combined Top 20 list and then a Top 10 for each individual model.

Only requirement is that you have driven a minimum of 500 miles and that you post a picture of your HSI display showing miles and mpg. (PiP's must include a ratio screen showing that you did not use any EV miles during that 500+ miles)

My red one I am working over to try to get into the 70s but these take a while to break in from new.

Just finished my best tank today. Let's get another "C" on the list:
    08162014091.jpg

The previous thread asked for more details:
    08162014093.jpg
This was with 87 octane, E10; P & G in ECO mode, tires 50/48psi, very little AC.
    ~400 miles from 2 round trips (both ~82 mpg @ 30mph avg.)
with the balance in many shorter trips at 45-60 mpg (3 to 5 mile commute).
(FWIW, this fill was 7.181 gal for a calculated 74.2 mpg.)

That gen iii list is viscous. Lol. Gotta be in the mid 70s to compete. Congrats to everyone on the lists. It sickened me when my 2011 silver car got totaled and I got the 2014 red car cause it's MPGs just don't jive yet.

I got 57.7 but didn't bother with the pic after 57.5, either listing would get toasted later by the guys in the 60+ club.

Top 20 - MPG Record Holders | Page 20 | PriusChat shows the elevation of my normal commute

If you want you can put mine in as spot number 10 on the list for Gen II as I'm sure it'll be at the bottom of the list sooner or later. :)

I'm running Energy Saver A/S now so maybe this fall or next fall I can get a better run and do another 500 mile tank at 65+ mpg but I have a hard time doing more than 8 gallons on a tank. I often fill up at 7.x gallons even if I get low on gas.

I also shot myself in the foot for this thread by going 195/65/15 instead of 185/65/15 on my latest set of tires. It makes the speedometer more accurate but it'll cost me a little in actual and displayed MPG.

oops Top 20 - MPG Record Holders | Page 22 | PriusChat has me at 59.6 MPG on a later post.

I scanned the first 30 pages of the old thread and found these entries you can put in the Gen II section

roadpup (Gen II) 587 miles @ 67.5 mpg
jaquimo (Gen II) 508 miles @ 65.3 mpg
    dhanson865 (Gen II) 501 miles @ 59.6 mpg
    Corywn (GenII) 655 miles @ 58.7mpg

going back further to the Document your MPG by doing this! | Page 4 | PriusChat we get

sagebrush (Gen II) 633 miles @ 59.5 mpg
sidecar (Gen II) 623 miles @ 56 mpg
    2k1Toaster (Gen II) 540 miles @ 50.7 mpg

That should get the Gen II section up to 9 entries with 4 below me, shouldn't be too hard to get someone to fill up the last spot.

Not stellar, but maybe good enough to hang on the bottom of the Gen 2 list for a while ;)
    ImageUploadedByTapatalk1409681651.515210.jpg

Was over 56mpg, but finally had to give in and switch the AC on toward the end of the tank. Hoping to better once the temps start coming back down.

yeah it's low 90s here as well, I am frugal with the AC but even I can't keep it off in this heat. It easily uses 5-10 mpg when I'm using AC for most of a tank (more so if AC is on when I'm stopped or traveling uphill, less so if I use it only on downhill stretches like I try to do).
