Yes, any service station with an air fill station.

Also, a question, do you press the "Reset" button (at the bottom right of the "Consumption" screen) each time you fill your tank? If not, press it the next time you fill up then see what the MPG figure is by the next time you fill up. See if you can run a good 300 mi before filling up.

Let us know how you get on.

Do you know what the pressures were before you filled them? If not, did it take a lot of air in each tire to fill to 40/38 PSI?

Yesterday went to LA , I got around 40.3 to 40.4 round trip total 260 miles, is this good mileage ..?

    402.JPG
Its been month i brought Prius.
    First month fuel consumption update.

    completed 1008 miles.
    one month fuel: 35.26 gallons
    Total spent on 125$

Started getting 32 miles per gallon initially when i brought car and now getting around 40.2.
and when i coming back i can hear some small noise from front side small speakers next to driver , is this any known issue with Prius ..?

Getting better, but I would still consider that to be pretty low. I've only gotten below 40MPG on one of my 46 tanks. Do you have a friend with a Prius you can borrow and see what you get in it? Or go to a dealer and test drive another Gen2, make sure you reset the MPG meter first. I feel like you must either drive crazy or something is wrong with your car.

When travelling on the highway in my Prius Gen2, I have developed the knack of accomplishing my journey at 65mph. I will often use cruise control too. Occasionally, I'll put in a burst of speed to overtake or get out of a dangerous huddle of cars driven by clearly inept drivers, otherwise I do stick rigidly to 65mph. You'd be surprised at the fuel consumption difference between 65mph and 75mph for example - especially in a Prius.

I'm also inclined to believe there might be something wrong with your car - unless your driving style is far more spirited than we might want to believe.

Do you use your A/C all the time? Do you use the Auto A/C button or do you configure your A/C use manually?

I run mine at 18c on the lowest fan setting, set to recirculate. Uses far less fuel. Using the Auto A/C function apparently uses more electric energy, ergo the engine kicks in and runs for longer periods more often.

Are the aerodynamic panels under your Prius missing? That could theoretically create more drag. Just curious - clutching at straws now...... ;)

I went to 400 miles plus trip on this week end,I got excellent mileage between 47.3 to 47.5 (with A/C on and some times heater on)and most of times my speed was 80 mph on highways.

Spent 4 plus months to get good mileage and got excellent suggestions from u guys thank you all for making me real Prius guy ,started from zero 28 mph to 48mph now. image.jpg

I just saw the Driving With Load article. It was informative. As far as going up hills and speeding up before the hill is good. I do that a lot. I have found that in most vehicles if you freeze your throttle position as you get to the hill, and hold that position you will slow down a little and hold the mpg reading better. If you let the throttle drop off some you will lose too much speed.

To maintain good mpg while cresting the hill just feather the throttle and let the car run down hill. If you let off the gas fully you may slow down too much, wasting gas getting back up to speed.

These things work really well with my 26 foot 14,000 # Motor home! Best mpg = 20, average 10.5 some 15 mpgs too.
