To program HomeLink with Genie Excelerator (mfg 2000) garage door opener, instructions ask if Genie transmitter is in Intellicode 1 mode or Intellicode 2 mode. I do not know. I previously programmed the door opener for two 2010 Prius IVs with HomeLink, two Genie remotes and the wireless remote keypad successfully. Now I am having trouble programming the 2014 Prius IV.

When I try to train the HomeLink button by pressing the remote controller, the garage door opens/closes.

    1. You can't program while you are in the vicinity of the garage door, unless you unplug the opener.

    2. The programming range is really short on the homelink, the garage remote literally has to be touching the homelink mirror for it to recognize.

I programmed mine sitting in the driveway. The door opened. I then used the button on the rearview mirror to close it: No problem

Generally speaking, not everyone is successful on their first try.

I programmed mine sitting in front of the garage too. I held the homelink button and the remote control button until the light blinked fast. (Remote was almost touching mirror). Then went into the garage and on the garage door opener on the ceiling pushed the button. Went back out to my car and pushed the homelink button and it worked.
