Solar Gard all around 30%. Front windshield 60%. $400 total. You can see my tinted car in my profile pic to the left. Looks great (my interior is light color).

I would prefer a little darker all around except maybe the windshield, but I often drive in Virginia where I hear police might pull you over. (VA law: front 50%, back 35%) That's why I didn't get it too dark. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Found a guy with 20 years experience at our local website asking only $150 cash for any sized car (even suvs, minivans etc). Llumar tint, very good quality work, and was done in just an hour while I watched. I would recommend him if you are located here in Ottawa.

Dumb question here, but, will any of those tints affect cell service in the car?

The metallic tints may affect cell service. The ceramic tints do not. (I have ceramic. No issues with cell service.)

I got all windows tinted for $110 at 20%. Of course this was the 3rd vehicle I took to the guy.

I got mine done a week after I got the car. 20% all around, nothing on windshield as the law just allows a strip and I didn't want that. It was $170 and the 2nd car I've taken to the guy, my Mustang was $150 and it had itty bitty back windows. Since I got legal limit it's guaranteed against bubbles for the life of the film.

A lot of people can get about $150 ball park with "good" generic tints. But it's a lot of windows on this sucker- so I wanted heat reduction. Tinted all 11 windows with ceramic Llumars. $400, yes it's a lot of money, but trust me, it's totally worth it.

Llumar CTX all around (15% backs, 30% fronts) and Llumar Air 80 (clear) for the windshield. The Air80 is so awesome, if parked in the sun on a hot day, you can put your hand right up against front windsheild and you wont burn at all. My old "good" generic tint, you can barely withstand a second or 2.

Air80, 43% heat rejection and CTX 50-55% heat rejection. 100+ degree day like today is no problem. Never have to over work my AC system.

i paid $300 for lluminar.. not sure if its ceramic or not.. but quality looks good. i got quoted between 200-250.. and i went with this place called Tropic because i was told they are the best in the area. but the cuts was not straight around the smaller windows and back, on the front small window they missed a corner and used black paint to cover it up. and lastly didnt tuck the bottom of the tint. i guess i was expecting a proper job for $300 bucks! this is my second tinted prius.. the first prius i owned cost $225 and they did an excellent job but i did it while living in another state.

2015 Prius 2 here. I live in Northern NJ. Just had mine done yesterday. 20% rear passenger doors and back hatch back minus the lower panel on the hatch. 35% tint front doors. $240 plus tax. Had the same tint on my 2011 Maxima. Only got stopped on the tints once and that was in Pennsylvania driving on I-80 West. Got a great tip from a NYPD friend. When you get stopped always lower all the windows. Cops get apprehensive approaching a tinted car where they can't see if anyone is hiding in the back seat.

here's another tip. if you have illegal tint on your car and you see a cop driving up from behind lower your windows. They can't write a ticket for illegally tinted windows if they can't see them.

One last tip. if your drinking beers in the car throw the cans out of the window as your driving. They can't write you a ticket for open bottle if they can't see the cans. lol

I went with the high end 3M Crystalline tint - 50% all windows except the windshield and that is 70%. Great stuff but expensive at $750 ($250 for the windshield alone).
We have a Formula one ceramic tint on our '09 Camry that is darker. We didn't have the windshield done on this one because I didn't know it could be done. If I had it to do over I would have chosen lighter film mainly because after dark it is hard to see anything.
The ceramic film doesn't do half the job of keeping the inside cooler than the 3M does but it is much less expensive.

OK. That is great for all of you CA. people.
I live in Toledo oh. where the temp will be 5 below tonight. I was going to tint but thought that the solar heat in the winter would outweigh the solar blocking in the summer.
    Any thoughts???

Duh....I live in Canada and still tint because there'll never be enough sun to heat up my interior in winter anyway. Just block your grill like everyone else and stop worrying about what miniscule sun your tint blocks in winter.

I did not mean I would not need heat in the winter without tinting. Only that the interior would be more livable after sitting out in the sun!!
My grill is blocked but, My trips are under 5 mi. Average.Soooooooooooo my car never warms up completely.

Be sure you also check sites like groupon. My buddy got about $100 off his tint job through a coupon site.

Doesn't make a difference. I love in cleveland, Ohio and I've always tinted my windows. Darker than is legal in Ohio, and never had a problem with police or with solar heat/blocking. I do it because I think it looks better. Whole car, $150.

Same here, except Im in Michigan and I paid $199 OTD for both of my Prius's for 20% tint, all around.
They will also remove it if you get a ticket for free. Ive had 20% tint on all my vehicles since ~1999 and NEVER had a problem with John Q. Law. (y)
