Multimedia unit ask for a password at start

    I have 2012 prius ZVW 30 (Japanese domestic version) with HDD navigation + TV multimedia system (Model no: NHZN-X62G 76051). Recently after disconnecting and reconnecting 12v battery terminal every time car starts prius multimedia unit prompted for a password and remain there. I'm the second owner and have no clue of the password. The dealers said they could get the password but it would be costly. Is there a workaround?

    In my JDM Honda's the password is usually:
    • in the manual (sticky label affixed to a page, different for every car)
    • inside the glovebox attached to one of the sides
    • attached to the hidden part of the glovebox, the part that you can only see when you drop it to change the cabin air filter
    • part of the VIN, like the last X digits
    Other than that, there is little that can be done other than pay for the password. Sometimes there are admin overrides, but good luck finding those...
