One big dislike I have about my C2 is the honking big rear set headrests: they really negatively impact visibility and I've gone and pull them out and have them sitting on the shelf in my hall closet.. Judging from my brief searches on the forum, I'm not alone in this opinion: many people have also pulled those headrests..

Anyways, I was behind a Yaris the other day and when stopped in traffic, I noticed that all three of the Yaris rear seat headrests are those low profile inverted "L" shaped headrests like the C's middle headrest. The inverted "L" allows the headrest to hug the seat back and basically store out of the way to not impair visibility. Does anyone know if the Yaris rear headrests will fit in the C's rear seats?

I also pulled and stored the rear seat head rests. Not only for visibility but to aid in folding the rear seat-back down. I am considering storing the spare tire and jack as well.

My rear headrests in the Prius Plug-in will fold down-forward, to the level of the top of the seat. I keep them folded down to give myself better rear visibility. I'm not sure if they can be transferred to the Prius C or not, but they are designed that way because when you fold the rear seats forward, the headrests would hit the front seats.

Here's a picture from my owners manual:

I'm NOT sure that those have been approved or available in the US.

I did not notice that feature in the US PiP, as nice as it would have been.

Could it not be retro-fitted into the C?

I'll take a look at my C when I get home (I have the PiP right now), but I'm not really sure how complicated it would be.

When I was in JP, the Aqua on display had the low profile head rest (L shape) for all mounts in the back seat. They had some other cool accessories in the car so I'm not sure if it was a custom thing or not. I took mine out as the only thing that goes in the back seat is my dog.

My mom's 2013 Prius hatchback (don't know which trim level) has the forward folding headrests. It would be difficult to retrofit, seeing as how the mounts in the seat back are different, but anything is possible if you're determined enough.

I love how the C heads look over the smaller ones but yes a lot of people complain about visibly.

I have no issue with it but one thing is certain. The low profile head rust would put a really good neck snap with the right impact.

I love watching those crash dummies in slow motion.

It's only low profile in the fully down position. When correctly adjusted it will provide the same restraint as the standard rear headrest.

I posted this on the other thread as well, but in this photo the passenger side headrest is '07 Yaris, the drivers side Scion TC '07, the Scion's raise a bit higher, to better fit adults.

Hard to imagine this design wouldn't be approved everywhere. It only folds forward in the "full up" position which makes it unusable when fully up, because it always flops forward. When it's lowered all the way, it becomes a normal headrest.

2014 PiP has the folding sort. My mom complained about the lack of visibility, so I folded them down after noticing they could do that. Then she complained about jabbing her neck because she didn't notice they were folded down or how they worked and decided she hated the fold down headrests. Apparently she just needs fully invisible headrests that never need to be adjusted.

The C Pillars on the Prius are just huge and not sure the c is very different. How about on the v?

I was watching a youtube video of a guy doing different customs on his Prius. He said that he got his rear seat headrests from the Tacoma. I looked into it. He got it from the Tacoma Double Cab. You'll have to find the colors yourself but as of looks I think the Tacoma's look the best.
