I liked my C so much, but after 125k miles, it is just too small, so I bought a 2012 Prius v (lowercase v), and modified it to look like my C. I love the color Habenero, so I had my v painted. I tried to duplicate the front bumper look as well. I also had the tail lights painted on the side, and smoked in the back. I did the side and rear debadge of the ugly hybrid logos. Also, I didnt like the red reflectors on the rear bumper of the v, so I had them deleted. I had the OEM JDM LED headlights on my C which came with the black housing, so I took apart the headlights of the v, and painted the inside housing black. I also added the LED DRL blinkers in the front with the smoked cover, and had the front and rear Toyota emblem deleted, and replaced with a black decal. And, of course the Drag DR31 wheels with Habenero lip and center caps. Shark fin and tinted windows were a must to complete the project, and I am really happy with how everything turned out. I just have to have the clear bra installed, and then I will put my Prius C up for sale. I will post this in the main v and C forums as well so everyone can have a look! 20140921_112150.jpg 20140921_112407.jpg 20140921_112049.jpg

Its going to be interesting to see how many people actually notice. I will start driving it as my daily work driver next week, and I have told nobody!

Yeah - I never noticed how much taller the v (lowercaes v) is than the C.

    Thanks for posting the pics.

Gotta go research MPGs in v's. The v was the first Prius I sat in at the dealers - I really liked it but couldn't see spending $27K at the time.

Your thread is making me think...darn...now I wish I hadn't seen the pictures.:)

Honolulu - Cs are around. In fact in the valley I live in there are at least 3 Cs in Summer Rain and a silver and a white.

Sure gave me a start when I got my C and a Summer Rain drove by while I was walking our dog. I thought someone stole my car.

I've actually talked to a couple of the SR owners. One said her daughter saw me driving in a parking lot and said: "Mommy - there's our car!" Funny cause they were driving by in their C when they saw me going by.

I saw more v's early on - guess cause the v came out in 2011. There is a red, a silver, white and occasionally I see a light blue v in the valley area above the University of Hawaii.

    YMMV

125K miles on the C! That's a lot of miles in two years. Any problems getting to 125?

I missed this thread when it originally posted.

What an unusual and unique approach. To make your new v , look like your old Prius C. And good job in doing it.

I have to say, I like whatever tool I need. But really as a "daily driver" in my environment? I tend to like smaller better than larger. Which is damn near Un-American. My "regular" Prius is kind of a compromise between "Large" and "Small". But even then, I sometimes miss the sub-compact size of my Honda Fit. It was really nice to drive into almost any parking environment and be able to park almost anywhere. It felt small, nimble and fast.

The fact that I actually prefer a smaller vehicle to a larger vehicle results in my being able to save a lot of money when looking for automobiles. I'm not tempted by bigger is better. I have nothing against people wanting larger automobiles, nor the real fact that for some people and families bigger vehicles are needed. But solely for myself? I'd be happy with smaller. Which begs the question, Still happy with the v? Miss the subcompact size at all?

I concede that it these terms I'm an oddball. I'm suppose to want the larger vehicle.

Just own a small and a large car, so then you don't have to worry.
