Wonder if there's an issue with priC inverters? I know I have to accelerate hard way more often than i'd wish.

Spare a thought for us poor Brits. We live in a country where more often than not, a wide range of companies / organisations conspire to "rip us off" financially. Indeed, even our very own Govt doesn't mind turning the thumbscrews on us metaphorically speaking, taxing us till the pips squeak!
If we sometimes feel a tad paranoid (or conspiracy theorist) - that's why. And that could possibly explain Grumpy's alleged posts too (I haven't seen them). I'd feel the same way too in his circumstances.

For example, Gen II Prii didn't get heated seats or heated and folding mirrors in the UK. This in a country that's cold and damp a lot of the time! At least, a silly omission. At worst, you wonder if you're being short changed.

This is a place where our very own politicians willingly conspire with companies from abroad to make us pay through the nose for everything. All in the interest of "value added tax" in the treasury's coffers.
UK = Treasure Island......only not for us :-(.

I hope this is offer is extended to the UK too! (Yay! It's still the UK!!!)

Lastly, methinks we all come here to praise Prii, and Toyota, not to bury either of them ;-)

I cannot hold a grudge against anyone who writes so beautifully. Even Grumpy writes well even though his reasoning often leaves much to be desired. I'm jealous.

Does this recall apply to all Gen III? I have a 2013 and did the software update, but don't know about anything else being required. Thanks.

If your car was included in the recall then I am pretty sure the warranty extension will apply.

Would think anything newer would have same warranty, even if recall not required.

I received a recall notification in my owner's account at the Toyota website. The recall said that I have to make an appointment to replace the inverter. The date of the recall was August 15. I have to take the car to a dealer this next Monday for that. I didn't received any letter about the warranty extension. (n)

I checked out my account on ToyotaClub Canada and there is no notice of this warranty extension so far. I'll post an update when I learn more.

Don't give up hope just yet... It took about 7 months from when they announced the recall in the states (February) until they announced the warranty extension here (just recently). It may or may not happen in other regions, but if it does, it's likely to take a little while.

Just to clarify, the recall is not to automatically change the inverter, only to update the software. Inverter replacement is mentioned, but it's are rare I think. I'm guessing they run some tests, the majority of inverters pass, a very few fail.

PiP wasn't included in that last recall. I guess, PiP won't be getting the 15 years unlimited miles inverter warranty upgrade.

I emailed Toyota about the ZE3 notice and the guy flat out lied to me and told me that it was only valid in California Emission states. Then he said it was for 15yrs, 150,000 miles. ?? I am emailing them back.

It seems like only a limited few members have received the ZE3 notice. Do we need to start a survey to see how many people have actually received the letter and see if there is any rhyme or reason as to who has received the letter to date ?

I have not received a letter and do not see any indication on ToyotaOwners.com.

Do they only offer the warranty enhancement for cars diagnosed as marginal when EOE recall we performed?

I have not received the notice.

I got the recall notice, to update software to better protect the inverter.

Nothing since, regarding warranty extension for the inverter.
