Why you shouldn't drive slowly in the left lane

    If I'm in the fast lane I make sure I'm going fast enough to not have people tailgating me. If someone does pull up behind me I pull over to the right and then get back in the left.

    I do HATE when I am going fast in the Left Lane and I pull up behind another Prius going slow in the Fast Lane. Damn you Prius Drivers!!!!

    Oh wait... I drive one also. I pass them on the right and get back in the left. Come on people, some of the bad rep/hate we Prius drivers get is because of the d****es who drive Pri and do crap like hang out in the left lane doing the speed limit.

    Just a guess -- if driving over the speed limit generated an automatic ticket, there would be little motivation to have these discussions.

    Trust me, if I only had to deal with cars doing the speed limit, my day would be faster at the limit than it is following those doing 20 miles an hour under the limit.

    (My goal each day is to pass as many vehicles as pass me, so, on average, I am not impeding traffic. Currently that is 61 in a 55 MPH zone)

    there are plenty of other cars/truck camping out in the left lane. the problem is that the prius is so recognizable so it makes it easy for others to "hate"

    The C-max has a pretty iconic shape, and you've posted about going at <PSL (presumably in the right, which is to say the RIGHT lane here in the U.S.....)
    Do you or did you encounter less C-Max hate than Prius hate?

    I've got 71,000 miles in type.
    I usually see Prius Hate only in this forum.
    I cannot recall being gestured that I'm number one, and despite the fact that I'm pretty much forced to drive at PSL I don't get tail-gated very much at all.
    It probably happens occasionally and I just don't let it bother me enough to remember.....and I don't blame the Prius when it happens. ;)

    I see no Prius hate in MS*, on the freeway I run with the Semis at 71 MPH in the right lane. (posted is 70)
    On two lane, I try to run at the average speed (I pass as many as who pass me) which is 61 in a 55.

    *Prius are so rare in MS, they may not recognize one

    ETC. while the cmax has a pretty unique shape. there are less than 20K units in the USA so its not really visible...

    I have not noticed and angst towards me in the cmax...
