Hello everyone, two nights ago while driving at night I unfortunately hit a small animal. When I looked at the front of my car the next morning i realized the bumper grill was broken but behind where the grill was was an electrical connection which I have never noticed before. It is hanging down right in the middle. Now the lights work fine and I have not had any warnings. Does anyone know what that connection is for?

    thanks

The only electrical connection in front of the condenser is the horn. There are two horns, check if one of them is loose.

Where would I find the horn and the connections? Is it on top of the grill so I need to open the hood and remove the plastic cover towards the front of the hood?

That connection is the sensor for the outside air temperature on the MFD. It also supplies air temperature information to the engine ECU. That unit is normally fastened to the upright steel rail in the picture.

Thanks John, does it clip to it somehow? So it is not a connection just a sensor?

Thanks a bunch, I always have a fear that my car will explode

I believe it just clips to the rail from memory, and as you suggest it is just a sensor with no ongoing connections. No explsosions:eek:

It looks from your picture you have damage to your AC condenser. Try running your AC to confirm if you have a refrigerant leak or not.
