I dropped the trans pan on my 01 Prius today, the oil looked clean/clear but along with other debris in thepan I found some pieces of pink plastic.... Very small like bread crumbs and a couple larger ones about 1/8" by 3/16".

Very concerned about this. Any guesses?

There's nothing to worry about. It's a 2001 model. If it's running fine, just continue driving it. If it has some mysterious damage, it's not like you can do anything about it. Just get on your day as usual.

I'd think the crumbs are fragments broken off from sealant/gasket, not a problem, but I'm not that knowledgeable.

I hope you guys are right. It seems to work better than before the trans service but, it's hard to tell. Those particles were consistent all the way through the caked on sludge in the pan, mostly small bits but a few larger chunks.

    I agree with this assessment.

    Might be congealed assembly lube.

    Again, nothing to worry about.
