Today i hit the side mirror against another car (that was close !) and with the impact the mirror folded in. Now i noticed that the turning light transparent cover is slightly shattered. Do you know if this part is available or will i have to replace the entire cover?

Tried looking online for a replacement but all i'm finding is the JDM replacement

    Thanks for your help

I guess it depends where in the World you are. The US version didn't have the turning light as standard until 2013 so the fact that you have a 2010 as shown on your profile would indicate you're somewhere else. Aha, just searched Siggiewi and found it is on Malta. I thought you'd just tapped the keyboard in some random fashion and didn't realise it was a town. :)

Regarding your question, I guess it depends. The dealers here will only sell the full mirror at huge expense, but I'm sure you might be able to find a used one on ebay and just remove the parts you require. Be careful of the JDM versions as they can be slightly different with some having foot lights built in.

You must have hit the other car hard as I've had my side mirrors clipped a number of times and they are still fine. If anything the Prius mirrors are very well built and can take a battering. In Malta you won't have a problem with water getting inside the break and going green so why not just keep it as it is? You can guarantee you'll hit the new mirror within days of replacement :)

You re from UK so i expect you knew where Malta is at least !!! :)

Thanks for your reply! i will probably live with it shattered for the time being, but i want to know if replacing just the light cover is a possibility

    Many thanks

Of course I know where Malta is and a lovely place it is too. Oh and you drive on the proper side of the road.

I did think it strange that an American had hit their side mirror, what with their massive wide roads. They don't know the joys of squeezing two cars down a narrow road at 30mph/50kph with only 3 inches to spare. That little grimace as you pass an oncoming car, the little swerve left and right to stop the mirrors hitting. The involuntary breathing in, clenching of shoulders, arms and buttocks in the faint hope that it makes your car slightly narrower (which it does). And if you do hit the other car, the winding down of your window to pop the mirror back out again whilst giving a quick glance in it to see what damage was inflicted on the other car, at the same time putting your foot down to get the hell away pretending you hadn't noticed there had been any contact.

Oh the joys of driving in narrow streets. They don't know they're born these Americans :D

It should be a replaceable line item, probably a costly one. Touch base with a Toyota parts center and find out.
    Good luck !!!
