I have a 2006 and I have only one fob. I got one from ebay for 2006. Does someone know how to program the new one or both the old and new

It would be less expensive to get a "NEW" fob from Amazon for $120 or less. Then use the self programming instructions located on Priuschat to program the fob for free.

The USED fob you purchased would need to be programmed by someone at the dealer or locksmith equivalent with proper credentials. This process alone will cost you as much as the NEW fob on Amazon.

I am trying to program a 2007 prius FOB to a 2006 prius, I went through the procedures depicted on this site. It did not program and the red light shaped like a car with a wrench in the center will not stop blinking every 5 seconds. I disconnected the 12 v battery for a few minutes but it still blinks. how can that be erased? What am I doing wrong?

You cannot program a used fob using this method, it's only to program a brand new key fob (for smart key use). You can however program a used key using this method to use in the key slot of the car.

To properly program a used key to use as a smart key, you would need to reseed the car. Meaning you have to erase the car's memory of the key and program the used keys into memory
