Yup, I noticed online that the 2015s come standard with the backup camera, while the 2014s do not. That's the only difference I've noticed.

The 2015 Persona comes with signal lights in the side view mirrors.

I own a 2014 Prius II since August 1. Heartbroken to learn the 2015 model will include the back-up camera again for the same car. My 2006 Prius - with less than 50,000 miles on it - was totaled this summer by a teen who blew through a stop sign and t-boned my (thankfully unoccupied) passenger side. I loved that car - locks on all the doors (not just the driver's door as in the 2014) and back-up camera are the two things I really really miss!

I though 2014 was the last year for the Generation 3 so basically 2016 will release the Generation 4 Prius. For me its good timing because I leased a 2014 earlier this year.My lease is up in April 2017 I will be looking at the Generation 4 to see what changes it will have.

I heard a silly rumor that next year's Prius 2016 was going to be built in the USA. That's one of the reasons I decided to buy a Prius now. Get one of the last Japanese built models. (Link)

Interesting, I forgot about that link as I haven't read that in a few months now. Will be interesting to see if a US built prius is as good as a Japanese built one.

Bought my 2014 red Prius 3 today, waiting for them to deliver it now since they were out of stock and had to drive to KY to get it and bring it back to Nashville. Can't wait to drive it. I'm going from a Ford Expedition SUV to a Prius. Very eager for this change in my world!

Man, are you going to notice a big change at the pumps! Smart move even if prices at the pumps are dropping. Enjoy, h

If I was in the market for a new prius I would wait for the 2016 with the new ion batteries

The new ion battery experience is going to come at a premium price. Unless people are having problems with their older GenII or GenIII cars, it wouldn't make financial sense to go to the new 2016. But if you have money to burn.....why not

Sometimes it's good to wait a little before buying a new updated model just in case there are some growing pains to be sorted out. Toyota is good, but not immune to first model year problems.

I'm keeping mine a while. It's still a great car. Plus, several interesting cars in the works from several manufacturers as well. Gen IV Prius will probably still be my number 1 choice.

You arent alone - I came from a GMC SUV after owning it for 8 years. Thats 8 years of 12-15mpg.
Finally one day when gas was going for $4/gallon, I woke up and smelled the OPEC. And it reeked like shit. I sold the SUV, bought my 2007 Prius and have NEVER looked back.

At first I worried about towing my boat or utility trailer (I now borrow my Dad, brothers, or one of my friends trucks). Then I worried about snow (Prius is really good in the snow- last year we had record snow in Michigan too). Now the only thing I worry about is oil changes every 7500 miles and tire rotations. At 93,000 miles, thats all my Prius has ever needed!

I just bought a 2015 Prius (Persona series, whatever that 'really' is!). I had to give up my 2008 Prius at 132k because (surprisingly and unusually) the transmission went bad and was faced with a $5k new transmission. I would have kept the 2008 for another 30k miles at least. Anyway, moving on ... the dealer experience was not great (is it ever?). They showed me a 2014, and when I realized it had no backup camera, I was like "whaaaa ? My 2008 Prius had a backup camera" It also had the pointless cargo net and First Aid kit, which they said were basic items (apparently they were not). I said that this 2014 offered me less features than my 2008. Almost as an afterthought, they said, well we have a 2015 with leather seats and a backup camera. The usual price dickering ensued. But here's the thing: the salesperson didn't promote the "Persona" package and never even mentioned it. I only looked it up later because I wondered what the "Persona" emblem was. Bad me, maybe. Anyway, the seats were not leather, they are Softex. Not a biggie.
From an under-the-hood standpoint, I'm pleased. I like the Toyota Prius technology and reliability (even with my 2008 trannie problem). But ... I do not like the Gen III Prius interior. I like that simplicity of the Gen II. For certain, there is far less cockpit storage in Gen III (in the door, the dash and the seat divider console). The cupholders are a bit awkward. I'm sure I will get used to the controls for fan, temp and all the other stuff, but to operate them I feel as if I have to divert my eyes more from the road ahead. Gen III is a slightly bigger car, but it doesn't feel like from the inside if you have driven a Gen II.
Really, I'm just waiting for my special card that requires all auto manufacturers to consult me with regard to interior design! One positive that is not specific to Toyota: having Bluetooth in the car rocks!!

Depending on what actually failed on your 2008, it might have been under the hybrid warranty. Oh well, car is gone.

So what improvements would you implement as interior designer of your new 2015?

I'm curious when the Persona package was first introduced. I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the internet. I know Red and White colors are available for 2015, but there is at least one Purple Prius rolling around Seattle and I've seen pictures online of a Purple Persona Prius online. Purple is not available this year. At least it isn't on Toyota's website.

I believe the Persona model was available in 2013 when i bought my car, and perhaps in 2012. best i can tell it was a nonstandard color, and not much else to distinguish it in terms of equipage.

Hello, my name is Tim and I ::looks around the room:: I'm a new Prius owner. I realized I had this problem... oh I thought this was a help group forum lol j/k Seriously though, a bit late in the game here, but the only thing I can see is the backup camera and the 2015 has Sequential Fuel Injection.
Either way, I love the car, had a Camry before (the pretty recent plastic interior one with the diner blue dash radio), and the prius just fits like a glove for my small frame, very nice so far.

It's called Cherry Black and was available for 2013 along with two other color options.
