2005 Prius Brake Job

    As nh70 says above take the car to Avi's. The dealers are masters of separating people from there money by just throwing parts at the car till the problem goes away. What fault codes did they retrieve that makes them certain what the problems are? Post the codes here for a reasonable diagnosis.

    Yes, I agree, call Avi's Advanced Automotive. These ECU's rarely go bad. If anyone can fix it, he can.

    How I use brakes (hardly at all). Spouse - another matter. We have very different ways of driving. I learned my early (age 16) driving with a big 60-passenger school bus (1950 mfg.) now I am age 70. Today at less than 106,000 I am having all the brakes at dealer recommended. Service advisor said "there is a lot of rust up there" - no kidding. I hardly ever engage brakes, coasting (on battery) up to traffic light as it changes green.
