We are thinking about letting our Prius go (so we can purchase something new). I generally don't like do dealer trade ins and prefer to sell private sale.

Where does the collective wisdom of PriusChat put a 08' Touring with 110k, some dings and scratches but really flawless performance with service history?

Take about $15000 of the msrp of the car and that should be the value. Or you can check the kbb and Edmunds values for your specific area

We paid $10K at a (Ford) dealer for our 2007 Touring with 112K last fall in Ohio. That was a fair, perhaps even low, price based on KBB and our area at the time. I think KBB might have had dealer pricing at $12K. Dealer prices are typically a bit higher than what a private party can get, however, because people tend to assume that the car has been thoroughly checked over. For example, ours had new brakes and tires put on by the dealership.

I am picking up a 2008 Prius Touring Model tomorrow with 103K from dealer near Philadelphia. It has all Toyota Service records and body is very nice. Price I am paying is $9500. I shopped every prius within 200 miles and this is the best I could find for having records and physical condition. A great buy for sure. Yes I am sure it is a touring model. Wheels, struts, spoiler, foglights, springs all check out. The dealer was unaware it was a touring model. Back up cam and in dash cd player, but no leather or navigation.

Customer in Boulder selling 08 Touring with 48k miles fully loaded with leather for $13k, so with 100k+ miles $10k-11k is about right for private sale, at least around here.
