the bluetooth microphone located on the roof (right next to the lights) suddenly fell off while I was driving and is now hanging from a couple wires - any advice on re-attaching it to the roof?

It seems like I'd have to remove the roof interior cover, but sounds complicated and pricey.

Is this a factory installation or aftermarket?
I'm accustomed to Toyota mounting the microphone inside the map light cluster where it would never fall out.

    Likely still under warranty.
    Ask a dealer first.
It may just "snap" back in.

    It's all original, on a 2013 Prius C, II
Unfortunately the inside bracket is also unattached, so I can't snap it back in...that's why I was thinking it's a more complex job

Yes, likely it will be but you didn't do anything to break it, did you ??
If not, and you don't have too many miles on it, it should be fixed under warranty no matter how "complex" it is, I would think.

But the point IS that someone who knows how that bracket attaches might be able to get it to go back together without taking the headliner loose......might.

What is your alternative ?? If it is still under warranty, why would you NOT take it to the dealer ??

The same thing happened to me when I pulled on the mic a little too hard and then tried to just put it back in - Not that easy.

If you don't want to take it to the dealer, it is possible to replace it without removing the headliner. You DO have to loosen the interior light array, however, and then reach back to access the metal bracket, orient it properly and pop the little bugger back into place while supporting the metal bracket from above. Nothing attaches to the roof, the bracket just holds the mic in place with the headliner in between. The wires, of course, go through the opening in the bracket.

There are clips that hold the light unit in place. You've got to pull down the edge closest to the mic and look for the clips that hold it up. I wish I had taken pictures, because I do not remember exactly where they were or how I did it. I do remember using my fingernails to do the initial prying, and a very small screwdriver to manipulate the clips. This was some time ago. So, it is possible and you can do it by yourself, if you choose.

I've gotten this far. I'm not sure how to get the light fixture out so I can get behind the ceiling and re-clip the mic.

Pretty easy I do remember accidentally unclipping the mic and it being a pita to clip back in but I did it. Keep at it. Methodical pulling will work.

Hello. Does anyone knows the technical info on that mic? I have a Prius C 2016 and trying to adapt it to my Kenwood radio system. I’d like to know where to tap the signal.

I pulled the mic out of its ceiling holder to see what it was. Couldn’t get it back jn. But remove the light fixture and you can access it.
