I don't believe you had a problem with the reservoir mix--it was probably the weak mixture sitting in the lines.

I used to take the washer fluid reservoir out of my VWs (v easy job) and empty and rinse it out before refilling with winter fluid.

I don't bother my ar$e anymore tbh, unless ithe temps went way below freezing

^ There's a lot of nutzoid regulations like that. A couple of others that come to mind:

    * TPMS enforcement on snows or OEM replacement
    * Full service only gas pumps only, by regulation

If this were another forum, I could easily write a two-page rant about the stupidity of mindless risk-avoidance based on not doing any risk-assessment. Apparently the hazard level of a substance is now determined by the name alone, not the toxicity or the dose, or the actual hazard.

The worst is regulation that actually increase the dangers they're intended to reduce:

Walking by our nearby full-service gas station (our district has mandated full-service, no self-serve allowed), I've got this image burned in my mind: An attendant filling multiple cars had locked-on the pump nozzle, and the shut-off had failed: it was just a-gushing, did that for at least a minute before someone woke up.

I guess the theory is that you're safer at the hands of a minimum wage-earner handling a carcinogenic, highly toxic, flammable and explosive substance, than you are, for protecting your own safety.

I believe our mayor, some 20~25 years back, said something to the effect that it would:

    1. Offer employment.
    2. Keep ladies from getting their dresses dirty.

    Hey, I'm just quoting. ;)
