I had a 2007 Toyota V6 RAV 4 with the "upmarket" JBL audio system and it was NOT good.

I sold it to Car Max in Feb. and bought my 2013 v Two Model and was very pleasantly surprised when I found the audio quality to be very good. I am constantly amazed at how good it is for a "base version" radio.

In fact it has quite good bass rendition, better than my RAV 4, even though it does not have the "mid/sub" tailgate speaker JBL unit in my old RAV 4.

Anyone else like their base V audio?

Car audio systems, for the most part, always improve as it becomes more feasible to equip systems with higher wattage and more speakers. That way, car companies can remain competitive by always offering consumers "something better", thus compelling reasons to buy a particular car.

I have the display audio system with navigation in my V three and I like it. I was pleasantly surprised to receive high quality HD radio, good iPod integration, and good Bluetooth connection quality with my Android phone.

Lots of complaints from most people, especially about the back speakers, but I find mine has good frequency response and balance with the fade heavily toward the back and source material like a good HD radio station or one of the high bitrate XM stations. The main problem seems to be a lack of a sound equalizer which allows significant bass boost (which people are used to in car radios) and poor placement of the rear speakers low behind the front seats.
