    image.jpg Hello all.

I have done a search and cannot find a dedicated motorcycle thread. So if this is ok with the Mods may we pls entitle this thread "The Official Motorcycle Thread" and have members post pics of their rides n such and may we have a dedicate Motorcycle thread.

    Thank you.

And attached is my 2013 Yamaha FZ1 standing by in front of my old guzzler.... ;)

Have since "farkled" her up quite a bit...

Edit- I used to get double the mpg riding my bike to work instead of the hemi, now it's more economical to drive the prius. Lol.... Fz1 w/ 16t front sproket = 30-35mpg....

I have a laundry list of bikes that I have owned over the last couple decades that I will share if this thread kicks off....

    Oh and folks.

As per Internet fourm rules PICS PICS PICS.

    :)

I used that same FZ1 fairing on my 06 Speed Triple to make it a better sport-tourer:

    I like your speedie!!

Isn't it amazing how much wind that fairing deflects! I've had the gambit of full on ST bikes all the way down to nakeds, cruisers, and supermotos, and the FZ1 with it's fixed shield seems bulletproof and all day rideable. .

THANKS! I pioneered that mod and several other speedy owners have tried it too. I had to widen the stock FZ perch but otherwise it's damn near a bolt on mod.

I sold that one but found another, older specimen locally for cheeeeep. New paint (DIY), bolted on a more modern rear wheel, and highly detailed and very thorough going through down to the frame is what I've done so far but I'll be adding another FZ upper to it too (all ready painted to match just waiting to make the new perch).

It's almost done. Just need to get the new fairing painted and the pegs changed out and she'll be ready for some long miles.

2012-08-06_19-29-41_502.jpg Here's my "Sport Tourer" 07 Hayabusa. You don't need a fairing because its so slick. Plus, at 160, traditional fairings slow you down. :).

As I always say, "its the only way to fly".

You can see my 06 Prius in the background. :)

    image.jpg image.jpg Here was my 2014 DRZ 400 SM,
pictured during localized flooding over the summer, this was before I traded her in for the FZ1, that bike was a hoot but not condusive to a I95 commute.

She's a sweet bike. I had a 2009 Vulcan 900 classic. Had the batwing, saddlebags, highway bars, stage 3 de baffle, etc, etc... Was a great bike.

image.jpg image.jpg She was new here. This one was before the DRZ moto.

The top pic is after 4 months of owning her... Totaled. I took just under a yr off from riding after this wreck. The whole front end is smashed in.

Today I fired the FZ1 up and took her on a 90 mile blast into Delaware state, Chester county pa area...

Picked up some new riding boots and a new bike cover on my travels.

Oh and today's high was 34 degrees!! :)

And I forgot my long johns....:(

    Still had a great time....

image.jpg Prior to the GSA I had this. Thinking back, I should have kept it! She was a great do it all (except for dirt) bike.

Have you ever ridden a newer C-14? I owned on for a yr and yeah it was a little top heavy but I could ride the heck out of that bike in the twisties, maybe not 600 fast but more than fast enough, and could ride it all day once I got the full heated Corbin seats / handle bar risers and wedges put on (short arms).... Fantastic bike. Would get another but it seems yet agin they did not add cc to it for 2015....

I almost bought the N1k, happy I called insurance before signing as they classify it as a super sport and wanted an ungodly premium, I quoted from all the big name insurance companies and it was just silly. They wanted hundreds more than my concourse 1400, and lots more than the BMW which cost triple the ninja!!!! It was just stupid, as insurance would be more than the monthly payment on the darn bike.

So I opted for the FZ1 at a third the premium (dairyland) for great full coverage and full replacement cost.

I added the quick release SWMOTECH Blaze saddle bag system, got the SWMOTECH engage tank bag (city bag pictured, have since swapped for the smaller engage bag) with quick release ring, added heated grips, all the sliders, tech spec tank pads, etc...

So I have a sport tourer /commuter when needed and in less than a min. Can pop all the bags n stuff off and rip up the back roads.

The FZ1 is no slouch either. A friend of mine has one with over 60,000 miles on it. It still runs like a top.

That's too bad about the insurance. Thanks for the heads up.
