Bought a Scangauge ii in Autozone... Now it is mounted on the left side of the dashboard...

It is showing engine coolant temp, battery current, engine rpm and ignition timing...

The most useful one is coolant temp. I use the information to know whether the engine is warmed up or now.

One of the interesting thing i found out from the scangauge is, in the winter, the AC will not use much power. The AC power mostly stays between 100 - 200 watts. Mostly of the time it is zero watts. When it is rainy, it will stay on 150 watts. I used to turn off the AC in winter. Now i just keep it on. It makes the cabin dry and nice.

Battery current during regenerative braking can go up to -80 amps. But it rarely goes up to positive 50 amps during acceleration. When the hybrid system indicator goes past the middle line, the battery current will stay low (<+-10) mostly.

To ppl with Scangauge, what information do you set to show in the Scangauge? How do you make use/fun of it?

I make fun of my Scangauge by telling it it is so old school looking with a cheap LCD screen and backlighting. :D ;)

I always keep on accumulating (per trip) and instant liters/100km. Then the following get rotated:

    Battery sensor 2 temp
    AC watts
    RPM
    Coolant temp

FYI: Setting heat/defog mode, even with AC "off", I'll see AC watts show values other than zero, intermittently. Until temps get lower than maybe 5C, when AC seems to stay off completely.

I have the Ultra gauge.. NTL, instantaneous MPG is handy as it gives a more precise reading than bar.
