Does the car give you signs of battery failure or does it just die? Had an oil change done and 100 feet down the road the car just stopped everyone is saying its the battery but I had no signals of a bad battery could it be a fuel pump or some other problem

Could be anything. Literally anything. Without knowing the kind of use the car has had, it's mileage, etc etc etc, we'll all just be guessing.

You might just have run out of petrol. Who knows.

Hi Bill, check that the oil hasn't been overfilled. There have been several cases reported here where an overfill has caused oil to get sucked into the throttle body and the engine loses power.

What exactly are the symptoms. Was it a loss of engine power or a complete loss of electrical power or something else.

BTW. Also check the 12V battery voltage.

I changed the 12V battery hoping that was the problem the car started up but then stalls out it seems like the engine is not getting any gas. I never lost all the electrical power. I have had problems with the 12V battery in the past. it almost seemed like the car was running down 1 cylinder then just stalled out

It is true that a failed traction battery will generally not provide any advance warning.

    1. Odometer reading?
    2. What warning lights appear on the dashboard and MFD? Take clear sharp photos, and post.
    3. What is the fuel level reported by the fuel gauge?
    4. What is the engine oil level on the dipstick?
    5. Who is the "everyone" saying that the traction battery is at fault, and what is their basis for that assertion?

If you want to be self-reliant regarding obtaining the trouble codes logged by the car, get Mini VCI now.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's probably a duck. --- Translation: They probably overfilled the oil.

Check the oil level right now, and as soon as possible check the throttle body and maf sensor for oil contamination.

I think he should have posted the signs he's got on the MFD about any failure if the traction battery.
