I have noticed that the driver side front is consistently 1/4" lower than the passenger side when vehicle is unloaded. What gives? Extra wear on the driver side struct from mostly driving alone?

    2012 Five, 46K miles.

Mine is uneven left-right also. It kind of drove me nuts when I installed my coilovers. I still had an uneven stance although they were set to the same height, so I don't think it is strut wear.

How are you gauging the difference in height ?
Is it possible that there is a slight difference in the body around the front fenders, making it LOOK like it is uneven when the frame really is not ??

I am measuring from the floor to the edge of the fender. The body being 1/4 inch off is actually more disturbing to me than a suspection sag. Car has never been in a wreck.

MRSTOP, is your driver side lower than the passenger side too?

I measured mine from the ground to the jacking points on the frame rail. I found what was a reasonably level spot and measured. I then turned the car around in roughly the same spot and measured.

I can't remember which side was up or down. I probably have the numbers written down somewhere, but it was probably 6-8 months ago.

I'm pretty sure ours is a little lower on the driver's side. Same thing with our previous Civic Hybrid (came home to roost). It's not that apparent in this pic, but square on you can notice it. FWIW, our Prius is similar to US level 5, aka V.

    A WHOLE 1/4 inch !!!
I bet most people couldn't even SEE that tiny difference.
And even fewer would actually fret about it.

So what does everyone think? Could it be designed for road crowning in LHD countries?

I found my measurements. These were measured at the jack points on the frame as I felt these gave me a more consistent measuring point. The measurements were from after I lowered the car and coilovers adjusted to the same height. The left is lower than the right.

    Here are the average measurements:

    Front left: 5.188"
    Front Right: 5.375"
    Front Diff (L-R): 0.188"

    Rear left: 5.708"
    Rear Right: 5.958"
    Rear Diff (L-R): 0.250"

Even though it is "only" a quarter inch, there is definitely a noticeable slight lean. I have thought about having the corner weights taken the next time I go for an alignment. I wonder if the left side is heavier than the right. The springs rates seem fairly soft (even aftermarket coilovers) so maybe they are more subject to the weight difference?

Interesting. I just measured mine and my front left is a quarter inch lower than the right. My rear left is a sixteenth inch lower than the right. Measured from the floor through the wheel center to the highest part of the curve of the fender. Left front 26 1/2" right front 26 3/4" left rear 27" right rear 27 1/16". Must have something to do with the road crown.

Around 180. But I've only put about 2000 miles on the car since purchase. It spent the first three years of its life as a corporate lease.

Is there any reason to be concerned about the quarter inch, or 1/16th of an inch, e.g. safety, fuel efficiency, value of vehicle,? We all have our obsessions, but having something like a car, which is not an exact, precisely constructed piece of machinery, be 1/4 inch off while sitting on pavement seems a bit extreme to me. Of course, unless it affects safety.

I am not concerned per se. Just wondering if it is normal, its origin, and whether it is by design.
