Yea, the suggestion that you should replace just the wheel bearing given that the entire hub kit can be purchased on amazon for $38 with free shipping is pretty short sighted. A hub puller is about $25. I have 3 of them fitting about every possible combination of vehicles.

The click type are perfectly fine. Just make sure you get them calibrated every few years. If you accidentally leave the spring compressed, then you need to have them checked each and every time you do that so don't forget to unwind it. I have a half dozen of the clicky types, but my favorite is my digital SnapOn which is accurate to 1%.

Last week my driver side (left) started to hum. I contacted Steve and went the next day to his place. We thought we knew just what to do considering we just replace the right side. Ah! How forgetful one can be. It seemed like a comedy of errors. LOL

We got the knuckle off and heated and got the bearing out. We put the splash shield on wrong and had to remove the bearing which was easy since it wasn't tight. Also the bolt holding the ABS sensor broke off because it was corroded. While I was trying to drill out the bolt so we could easy-out it the drill bit broke off. I decided to make a new hole and marked the knuckle by inserting the ABS sensor, rotating it clockwise a little and scribed the hole location. I drilled and tapped it 6m x 1.00 and mounted the sensor. It looked pretty good but when I backed out of the garage the ABS light turned on. Several tries were made to make sure the sensor was OK. I decided to make the sensor land where it should and made an aluminum keeper to hold it in place. The ABS light didn't go out so I got out my Mini VCI and ran that up. Codes were C0200 on the right side and C0205 on the left. That showed that both sensors kicked out codes. I saved the data and went on to clear the DTC. The light went out.

Overjoyed, I'm glad I bought the Mini VCI!
