After doing some research I went with the JBL GTO804

    Sonic Electronix - Compare Products

For the location and sensitivity rating, it seemed to be the better choice. Plus it got raving reviews online for comparable priced 8" subs.

The JL w3 will fit. And it's a "W" series which you know is top notch. Suggest getting that instead

I agree the W3 gets a lot of hype but for the specs, the JBL beats out the JL...then again i only spent 1/3 the price of the JL also but if i'm unhappy, i can always upgrade.

When it comes to subs. JBl vs JL. Sorry JL w3 will win

One can read all the specs you want, until you hear it and experience it, specs aren't enough to know

    where's the pix?
jl's are fantastic, but in this small car 2 8" subs of any decent brand will be more than enough.
you gonna shoe-horn those 8's into the rear doors?

I was only able to install the Pioneer deck, MirrorLink, E-Brake bypass, 1 Polk amp and both sets of Infinity components installed last night. Gonna tackle the other amp and subs hopefully soon.

I've decided to make an enclosure in the tray behind the battery. Got the amp mounted under the seats so they are completely out of the way. Looks really clean, other than the deck, You can't tell anything has been upgraded...fairly stealthy other than the 7" DVD screen.

The upgrade in sound quality and power is ridiculous... Def worth the $$$$

    (2) JBL GTO804 8" Installed into my custom sealed box. Still have access to my spare tire and jack. Used 12" speaker grills painted to match the trim. Used the oversized grills incase I want to upgrade the sub size later.

Can you put any weight on the grills? That's right in the center of the hatch space

yep, made several runs to the airport this weekend with lots of luggage with no damage to the grills or any loss of sound quality.

I'm moving and dont want to haul this one with me.

I made two, the one I'm selling is the 1st one. This one was just never carpeted or had grills mounted. The difference between the two is the location of the subs. The below pictures shows my current setup, the subs are more center of the floor. The one I'm selling, the location of the subs is more toward the back of the car.

Thats all the one I'm selling needs...carpet and some mesh grills...
