Tell me about it. 30" of snow, 30-50 mph winds and a high of 13*F ! Unfortunately, Camp Ellis still hasn't completely fallen into the ocean!

In 1978 I was living in Bennington Vt a lovely place I still miss to this day. Hard to make a living there in those times. Nothing but mill work.
Anyway a monster very famous blizzard hit. Few months later in the spring I moved to Florida. Could not take another endless winter. I have pictures the spring of 1979 where theirs snow on the flowers in May. Just madness.

The night the blizzard hit there were snowflakes the size of big cookies. You could catch them in your hand and they looked like knitted little Perfect geometric shapes. Next morning I woke up and all the water pipes in the basement were frozen & busted and no electricity and when I went outside I couldn't see my van because the snow was over the top of the van. My husky Fred whined at the door all night to go outside and then wouldn't come back in..
In the morning I yelled for him in the backyard and he stood up and was buried under 4 feet of fluff. And still wouldn't come in.

It snowed these cookies so thick you couldn't hardly see 30 feet for 33 hours. Very light and fluffy like today. Light and fluffy makes huge piles.
Its crazy up there but sometimes I miss it.
