    Hello Prius folks,
Anyone know what cause the beeping after the accident, it only beep in "D" mode and even "P" still beep until car is turn off. There are no warning lights at the dash, but the ICE keep recycling.

An un-insure / no driver license driver back in my car from my son's school parking lot, not happy!!! 20150122_080615.jpg Message_1421949923348.jpg

Is the beep like the back up beep or more like the beeps for the Hill Start Assist?

I'd take it to a Toyota collision shop as there is more damage than a crushed plastic bumper cover.

It's didn't sound like reverse beeping, it beeps like not wearing seat belt but my seat belt is in, this happen AFTER I open the hood and inspect the engine compartment and closed it, then the beeps occur and never stop beeping afterward, sigh...!:love:

    Bad Day.

Someone might be able to clue you in as to what might be causing the beeping.
    But looking at that damage?
The beeping is just a part of the iceberg.

I think I'd just have it towed to a repair facility.

Good Luck...maybe it won't be as bad as it looks....and for the moment sounds.

If the beeps started after you opened the hood, then perhaps the car thinks it isn't completely shut. Check to see if you have the door ajar light lit during the beeps. I'd have to check, but I don't think it will put up a "hood ajar" message.

You don't have a big damage. Just the bumper. The silver thing that is sticking is a solid aluminum bar and in front of it is same size sea foam bar....beeping might have to do something with the airbag sensor... That wire is used for the RH headlight, horns and a sensor in the center of the vehicle.

I called the autobody shop today, they still can not figure out the "mystery beeps", I still don't have the car back yet they said they need to send it out to fix it, I wonder who will they send it to?!

I think they should remove the 12v battery ground at least to reset ECU etc, may be it will help. There are no malfunction light(s) on the dash. I have a scan gauge and did a scan before drop off to body shop, no code found. The tentative day car ready is Tuesday 2/3. I am so upset all this happened to my Prius, I will trade in for a 2015 Camry hybrid SE, but I still hang around this forum.

Anybody's guess, mine is your airbags were appropriated by an unlikely party and the accident set one off and the car is beeping, looking for the missing airbag-bags.

The car most likely is going to a Toyota dealer for the Hybrid Tech to repair the mechanical damage.

    Hi All,

Thanks for the reply and messages, I finally get on my insurance adjuster to deal with the autobody shop since it's almost 2 weeks to fix the bumper/fender damage, they finally agree with me to take the car to Toyota dealership to have them diagnostic to find out the beeping issue.

It doesn't take long for the dealer to find out...it was my "Dash Cam" beeps because I removed the SD card, :ROFLMAO:so every time I start the car, the dash cam have about 10-15 seconds to boot up then it beeps because the SD card isn't insert. I totally forgot about it, I took the SD card to edit the accident video for my insurance adjuster just in case.

I had the car back today and it looks like new...for now:unsure:. I will definitely sell it or trade it in. In the meantime, I will slowly restore the Prius to "STOCK" so...I will have those "mod items in my signature" for sell soon.:D

Why the Toyota dealer when he's minutes from Luscious Garage and Art's Automotive?

The Toyota dealer only 2 blocks away from the repair shop.

Well...I guess she got away without penalty! My AAA insurance covered the lost. If the police come by that day...she will be in big trouble. I got the car fixed for now...aftermarket parts!!! I will drive the Prius for another year then I will consider a new one.
